40.6MWp solar power plant in Long An officially inaugurated

On June 23, Bamboo Capital Group (BCG) and Vietnam-Oman Investments Fund (VOI) inaugurated the BCG-CME Long An 1 solar plant in Thanh An commune, Thanh Hoa district, Long An province.

Former State President - Truong Tan Sang; Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee - Nguyen Van Duoc; Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Pham Van Canh attended the ceremony.

After 9 months of starting construction, the factory officially went into use on schedule. The BCG Bang Duong Solar power plant project was approved by the Ministry of Industry and Trade with a capacity of 40.6 MW, built on an area of 50.2 hectares. BCG Bang Duong Energy Joint Stock Company (BCG Bang Duong) - a member company under Bamboo Capital Group (BCG) is the investor of this project with a total investment of USD 42 million.

According to Chairman of Bamboo Capital Group - Nguyen Ho Nam, the factory has been installed 123,000 solar panels with modern technology and equipment, bringing high capacity efficiency.

The panels absorb the radiation of the sun, convert it into electrical energy to integrate into the power transmission and generation system with an output of 57 million kWh per year. The output is equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of 22,000 households in Vietnam, reducing emissions by 16,000 tons of CO2 per year.

Vice Chairman of Long An Provincial People's Committee - Pham Van Canh highly appreciated the project. The event marks the development of solar electric energy field in Long An province.

At the same time, he asked investors to operate the factory in accordance with the process, especially the environmental protection in the process of replacing and handling the solar panels.

Thanh Hoa district government should continue to support and create favorable conditions for investors to effectively exploit the potential advantages, create jobs, raise incomes for people, and contribute to local socio-economic development.

On this occasion, Former State President - Truong Tan Sang donated 100 scholarships to poor students in Thanh Hoa district (1 million VND per scholarship) and VND 100 million to Long An Study Promotion Fund./.
