Delegates offer incense to commemorate the martyrs

Ong Let is a high mound, rarely flooded during flooding season. Because of this favorable terrain, the enemy chose it as a field base. In September 1965, the enemy sent a commando company with a commanding advisor from Mang Da base to station at the mound to destroy and prevent our troops.

After 1 month of reconnaissance, on the night of 16, at dawn of November 17, 1965, Kien Tuong army and people ambushed, destroyed 80 enemies, captured 10 ones; confiscated 51 guns of all kinds, and so on. The victory of Ong Let Mound marked the development of the armed forces of Kien Tuong province, aroused the spirit and promoted the revolutionary movement. In 1997, Ong Let Mound was recognized as Historical and Cultural Relic at the provincial level.

At the celebration, the delegates reviewed the glorious tradition, the victories of the Kien Tuong armed forces; offered incense to commemorate the martyrs who sacrificed for the cause of national liberation and reunification./.
