In 2019, the postal, telecommunications, printing and publishing businesses are constantly expanding their capacity, customer network, improving service quality, strongly introducing, deploying and providing many new solutions. Revenue and local budget contribution increased higher than the previous year.

According to the Department of Information and Communications, there are currently 24 branches/representative offices/business locations in the postal sector; 9 money-paid businesses in telecommunications, internet and TV such as VNPT, MobiFone, SCTV, FPT, and so on (increasing 1 enterprise compared to 2018).

The printing sector has developed strongly and ranked fifth nationwide (after Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi City, Binh Duong and group of the Central printing establishments) with 117 licensed printing establishments. The whole province currently has 89 publishing houses, of which 3 establishments have a fairly large volume of books, Long An Book and Educational Equipment Joint Stock Company, Long An Cultural Book and Service Joint Stock Company and Long An Fahasa Bookstore.

Recently, in the context of many difficulties and challenges, businesses still try to fulfill their production and business tasks; closely coordinate with all levels and branches to perform local political tasks, make a positive contribution to social activities in the province.

Besides the positive aspects, the postal infrastructure is still limited, there is no provincial exploitation center to meet the current requirements and develop in the future. E-commerce is still modest, it does not commensurate with the actual conditions of the province.

In order to develop postal, telecommunications, printing and distribution activities more in the future, Director of Department of Information and Communications - Nguyen Ba Luan suggested businesses continue to maintain and improve the quality of operations, strive to complete the set targets.

He also said that the department would continue to propose the province to pay attention to creating conditions for the construction of a provincial exploitation center to serve the common use needs of enterprises; strictly handle the situation of illegal printing, have mechanisms to encourage and promote the field of printing and sustainable development.

At the same time, ministries, central agencies and localities are proposed to consider and settle the support for moving telecommunications works to serve local construction and infrastructure development; have solutions to solve problems in telecommunications enterprises hiring state agencies to develop telecommunication networks./.
