Lao Cai Health Department studies experience in implementing pilot commune health station model in Long An

On July 13, Director of Lao Cai Health Department - Nong Tien Cuong led the delegation to exchange and study experiences in management and deployment of the model of pilot commune health stations (HSs) in Long An province.

At the working session, the delegation studied the spatial arrangement, arrangement of functional rooms for pilot commune health stations; the arrangement of human resources, training and professional training for grassroots health staff; management of people's health, management of non-infectious and infectious diseases at HSs.

Long An has 3 HSs selected by the Ministry of Health as the pilot models which are HSs of My Thanh Dong, Binh Thanh and My Quy Tay communes of Duc Hue district. Last time, Long An Health Department regularly sent written instructions, reminded and asked Duc Hue Medical Center to report the progress of implementation in accordance with Guidelines 1383/HD-BYT dated December 19, 2017 of the Ministry of Health "Regarding the deployment of pilot models at 26 HSs in the period of 2018 - 2020". 

Implementing Document No. 2455/ BYT-KH-TC dated May 8, 2019 of the Ministry of Health "Regarding to continue to urge and coordinate the implementation of commune, ward and township pilot HS model", Long An Health Department has sent a documents requesting Duc Hue Medical Center and 3 pilots models of HSs to speed up the progress of renovation, upgrading, arranging faculties and working offices to ensure spacious and reasonable according to the Guidelines at Decision No. 6070/ QD-BYT dated October 8, 2018 of the Ministry of Health "Regarding the issuance of guidelines for spatial arrangement and functional rooms for pilot model of HSs".

Accordingly, these HSs have completed upgrading and arranging departments and rooms in accordance with the guidance in Decision No. 6070/QD-BYT. At the same time, there is a plan to build a standard waste treatment system. Health staff at 3 stations are ensure sufficient titles to perform professional work according to its scope of activities. Medical staff of 3 stations are trained to improve the quality of people's health management, chronic medical examination and treatment at commune and ward HSs according to family medicine principles and trained to improve knowledge of using computers. Currently, the stations are carrying out the contents according to the Ministry of Health's Guidelines 1383/ HD-BYT./.
