Up to now, Long An has spent 27 years fighting the HIV/AIDS epidemic with the support of international organizations and the attention of the authorities, departments and branches to help the province meet the requirements. Basic goals on HIV/AIDS prevention, including targets 90-90-90 are important prerequisites to contribute to the end of the HIV/AIDS epidemic by 2030.

However, in the last 2 years, the number of newly discovered HIV among men who have sexual intercourse with men (also known as MSM) has increased alarmingly. Discrimination against people living with HIV/AIDS still exists in the community. This is the reason why people who are at risk of HIV are afraid to access HIV/AIDS testing and treatment services, especially for MSM in the system of offices and schools. This results is that the patients continue to become a source of HIV infection to the community and an increasing number of AIDS deaths.

The message K = K is a very important and meaningful finding to contribute to achieving the goal of non-discrimination against people living with HIV/AIDS, preventing HIV transmission from infected people to the community if patients follow to receive ARV and achieve below-threshold HIV viral load.

At the same time, strengthening communication activities on K = K to all health facilities in the province; initially coordinating the education sector in implementing HIV/AIDS prevention and control solutions in high schools in the province.

Through the K = K event, the Deputy Director of Long An Health Department - Vo Van Thang called on all levels and sectors to continue sharing the K = K message to all people in the community and join hands with the medical industry to implement the 90-90-90 goal in the province to contribute to early end the HIV/AIDS epidemic./.
