Long An Market Surveillance Department: Peak campaign for checking, controlling year-end market opened

Long An Market Surveillance Department has just issued a document instructing affiliated Market Surveillance Teams to open a peak campaign for market inspection and control at the end of 2019 and before, during, after Lunar New Year of the Rat 2020 under the direction of Vietnam Directorate of Market Surveillance.

Accordingly, Long An Market Surveillance Department asked the Market Surveillance Teams to strengthen the management of the area, focusing on inspecting and controlling essential goods with great consuming demand on the occasion. At the end of 2019 and Lunar New Year of the Rat 2020 such as clothing, shoes, food, confectionery, sugar, fruits, beer, tobacco, cigars, soft drinks, petrol, animals and products processed from animals, electronics, refrigeration.

The focus on inspection and control is aimed at preventing speculation, hoarding of goods, illegal price increases, ensuring market stability to meet the people 's demand for goods at Tet.

At the same time, the Market Surveillance Teams also focus on examining the special subjects on anti-smuggling such as cigarettes, fertilizers, fake pesticides, poor quality, fake petrol, poor quality, pigs and pork products, cattle, poultry and unknown original products; categories of pharmaceutical products, cosmetics, functional foods and traditional medicine herbs; and food safety inspection.

During the inspection process, the Market Surveillance Teams should focus on wholesale markets, supermarkets, frozen warehouses, importers and traders of frozen foods, and production facilities, trading street food; inspect and handle violations of transporting and trading smuggled goods, banned goods, explosive materials, fireworks, producing and trading fake goods and goods infringing intellectual property rights.

At the same time, combined with inspection and handling of speculative acts, hoarding goods, illegal price increases, acts of fraudulence in goods measurement (weighing, measuring and packing goods), goods quality chemistry, fraud about prices or taking advantage of measurement and packaging to raise prices; strictly handle violations of the law on prices, price listing and sale according to the listed prices.

In addition, the Long An Market Surveillance Department also requires the Market Surveillance Teams to closely manage the area under their charge, actively coordinate with the local functional forces to perform the market inspection and control according to their assigned functions and tasks, dismantling lines of smuggling and illegally transporting goods across international borders and border gates; establishments producing and trading in fake goods, poor-quality goods and violations of food safety currently exist in the locality.

The peak campaign of market control and inspection is implemented continuously from now until the end of February 10, 2020.

It is known that, from the beginning of the year to the end of October 2019, Market Surveillance Teams focused on checking, controlling the market and discovered 1,368 violations, including 220 prohibited goods; 15 cases of smuggled goods; 711 commercial fraud cases; 25 cases of counterfeit and intellectual property; 102 cases of food safety violations./.
