Long An rewards police, border troops for arresting drug trafficker

On May 20, Chairman of Provincial People's Committee, Head of Steering Committee 389 of the Mekong Delta province of Long An - Tran Van Can rewarded VND 50 million to the Specialized Committee 021A for their outstanding achievements in arresting a man who illegally transported nearly 60 kilograms of synthesis drugs and 20 cakes of heroin in the border area of Vinh Hung district.

In addition, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Tran Van Can also awarded certificates of merit to collectives and individuals for their achievements in destroying the drug trafficking case.

He requested that the provincial Border Guard forces continue to coordinate well with relevant units of the Central, strengthen the reconnaissance to prevent and combat drug trafficking and trading as well as other types of crimes in the border area effectively.

Before that, at 11:15 am, on May 12, the special task force of Crime and Drug Prevention in the Southern provinces, Bureau of Crime and Drug Prevention under the Border Guard Command cooperated with C04 Department under the Ministry of Public Security, Long An Provincial Border Guards and Long An Provincial Public Security Department to arrest Truong Quoc Cuong (41 years old, residing in Khanh Hung Commune, Vinh Hung District, Long An province).

Functional forces arrested the drug trafficker

Functional forces discovered Cuong's car hiding nearly 60 kilograms of synthetic drugs and 20 cakes of heroin. He confessed about his behavior on illegal drug trafficking from Cambodia into Vietnam for domestic consumption.
