As many as 110 bikes were presented to disadvantaged children who live in mountainous and remote areas in the Central Highlands provinces of Kon Tum and Gia Lai by TNG Holdings Vietnam and the popularisation and education commissions of the two localities on September 5.

The gift presentation is part of the TNG Holdings Vietnam’s “TNG accompanies Vietnamese students” programme, which is expected to help impoverished students to continue their study.

To prepare for the 2019-2020 school year, Kon Tum province has built 128 new classrooms, 44 clean water facilities and 59 restrooms, as well as purchased new teaching and learning equipment.

On the occasion of the new school year, Gia Lai province awarded 200 Nay Der scholarships, each worth 1 million VND (43 USD), and thousands of gifts to local disadvantaged students.

The same day, 415 first graders at Nguyen Van Troi Primary School in Pleiku city received helmets from the provincial traffic safety committee. This year, more than 37,800 standard helmets will be presented to first-grade students in Gia Lai province as part of a national programme. The move aims to raise public awareness of wearing helmets while riding motorbikes and electric bikes to reduce the risk and consequences associated with traffic accidents.

Under the same programme, the traffic safety committee in Mekong Delta province of An Giang also presented more than 40,700 helmets to all first-class students in the locality./.
