Over the years, the province has always attached great importance to foreign affairs, paying special attention to the friendly cooperative relationship with Cambodia. The province's foreign affairs always adhere to the Party's and State's foreign policy, guidelines and orientations; strictly follow the regulations on the management of external activities of the Party and the State, with no cases of violations.

Currently, the whole province has nearly 900 import and export enterprises, of which, there are about 320 foreign-invested enterprises with diverse export products. The export market is constantly expanding, the goods of enterprises in the province are present in over 110 countries and territories. Currently, Long An is leading in the Mekong Delta region and ranked 5th out of 63 provinces and cities nationwide in terms of FDI attraction.

Up to now, the province has signed and established official cooperation relations with 8 international localities, of which cooperated to implement on the basis of 17 memorandums of understanding, cooperation contracts, cooperation agreements with localities from Korea, Cambodia, Laos, Japan, USA, Germany, Thailand,etc.

At the meeting, the members of the delegation also exchanged more contents related to people's diplomacy, foreign information, foreign culture, work with overseas Vietnamese as well as border and territorial work, etc.

Speaking at the meeting, Chief of Central Committee for External Relations Office - Bui Le Thai requested that in the coming time, Long An should pay more attention to promoting the Party's foreign affairs; focusing on, thoroughly grasping and disseminating the guiding documents of the Central Government on foreign affairs.

In addition, the province needs to continue to develop a specific foreign policy plan and put it into the annual work program. The study and exchange of experiences need to bring economic efficiency to the province and bring benefits to the people,etc.
