A Vietnamese delegation comprising 80 members, including 68 cadets from the Army Officer Training School No.1 is in Moscow to attend the Victory Day parade marking the 80th anniversary of the Great Patriotic War triumph.

The April 30, 1975 victory was a symbol of ardent patriotism, the strength of great national unity, the indomitable and heroic fighting spirit of the Vietnamese army and people.

He said the bilateral cooperation has so far seen new and groundbreaking development steps. Of particular note was the exchange of high-level visits within one year, yielding substantial results.

The victory of the resistance war against the US to save the country, with the peak being the Ho Chi Minh Campaign, has gone down in the glorious history of the nation as a proud mark.

Prime Minister Ishiba Shigeru and his spouse, along with a high-ranking Japanese delegation, left Hanoi on the morning of April 29.

The delegation solemnly expressed profound gratitude and deep respect for President Ho Chi Minh’s immense contributions to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation.

In a solemn, emotional atmosphere, President Cuong pledged to continue striving, together with the entire Party and people.

The President affirmed that Vietnam attaches importance to the relationship with Japan.

The event saw the presence of State President Luong Cuong in Ho Chi Minh City, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh in Hanoi, and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man in Quang Tri.

Historian Alain Ruscio affirmed that this anniversary provided an opportunity to revisit the reasons behind Vietnam’s victory.

Chairman Man expressed profound gratitude and deep respect for the great sacrifices of the fallen heroes who gave their youth.

Welcoming the Japanese PM's visit as Vietnam is commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification.
