In recent times, Ho Chi Minh City and Long An are two localities with a close relationship. The two sides have actively coordinated to strengthen the connection of key inter-regional traffic routes to promote socio-economic development. However, the current connection in developing traffic infrastructure is still limited, not meeting development requirements; the progress of implementing the Green Environment Technology Park project in Thu Thua district, Long An province is still slow.

At the meeting, the delegations of the two localities discussed, reviewed and handled legal procedures and outstanding issues related to the Green Environment Technology Park project, Thu Thua district.

In addition, according to the provincial master plan for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050 approved by the Prime Minister, Long An and Ho Chi Minh City have a total of 21 locations connecting to develop transport infrastructure. In particular, the People's Committees of the two localities have agreed on 7 key locations that need priority investment to serve traffic connections between industrial clusters, seaports, etc, promoting socio-economic development of both sides.

The locations include the newly opened Northwest Road and Provincial Road 823D, Le Van Luong Road and Provincial Road 826C, Nguyen Van Bua Road and Provincial Road 824, Long Hau Road and Provincial Road 826E, National Highway 50B and Provincial Road 827E (the dynamic axis of Ho Chi Minh City - Long An - Tien Giang), Vo Van Kiet Road (extended) and Duc Hoa Dynamic Axis, National Highway 50.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee - Bui Xuan Cuong and Vice Chairman of Long An Provincial People's Committee - Nguyen Minh Lam affirmed that this meeting was an oppoturnity for the two localities to remove bottlenecks related to the environment and traffic infrastructure. From there, the two sides can propose orientations, unify viewpoints and focus on more effective solutions in the coming time./.
