Long An Customs Department collects 5,289 billion VND for state budget, exceeding 53.3 percent of target

According to the report, as of December 31, 2021, the Long An Customs Department collected 5,289.8 billion VND, 53.3 percent higher than the target assigned by the Ministry of Finance, and 43.7 percent higher than the target assigned by the General Department of Customs in 2021, exceeding 12.5 percent of the additional striving targets assigned by the General Department of Customs, an increase of 49 percent over the same period in 2020. With the above revenue, Long An collected 4,241.2 billion VND, 41.4 percent higher than the target assigned by the Ministry of Finance.

As noted, the budget revenue from import and export of goods increased due to the increased demand for palm oil and petroleum products for production and consumption. In addition, the number of temporary businesses coming to carry out procedures increased, generating tax revenue from wind power projects in some provinces in the Mekong River Delta region, importing and exporting on the spot for enterprises to produce the export goods, contributing to income.

In 2022, Long An Customs Department is assigned a task with a revenue of 4,700 billion VND (of which Long An area collects 3,760 billion VND, Tien Giang collects 315 billion VND, Ben Tre collects 625 billion VND). Director of Long An Customs Department - Nguyen Ngoc Huan said that, with the assigned tasks, the unit continued to strengthen inspection and examination to promptly detect violations, contributing to the state budget collection. At the same time, it develops solutions to collect state budget to ensure the fulfillment of revenue targets set by the Ministry of Finance and the General Customs Department.

In addition, Long An Customs Department also well implemented regulations on coordination between Customs - Tax - State Treasury and regulations on coordination of collection through banks; Regulation on coordination between Customs and functional branches in fighting agaisnt the smuggling and commercial fraud; strengthening the review and analysis of tax debts, applying the coercive measures in tax collection and prevent new bad debts from arising.

In particular, in 2022, Long An Customs Department will gradually become regular and modern on the basis of information technology application, centralized data processing and widely applied risk management methods. At the same time, it builds a contingent of customs officers in the direction of expertise, effective and efficient operation, contributing to facilitating import and export activities, attracting investment, improving and enhancing the competitive capacity index. The smart customs management model is also deployed and built at the Long An Customs Department.

On this occasion, the Director of Ben Luc Customs Branch - Nguyen Phu Cuong received the Third-class Labor Medal for his outstanding achievements in work from 2015 to 2019, contributing to the cause of building socialism and defend the Fatherland./.
