Long An's GDP growth rate in Q1 reached 2.83 percent

On April 19, Chairman of Long An Provincial People's Committee - Nguyen Van Ut chaired a conference to evaluate the implementation of the socio-economic development plan in the 1st quarter and the direction and tasks of the 2nd quarter - 2022.

Despite the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic, Long An still basically implemented well measures to flexibly adapt to the epidemic, the socio-economic situation in the 1st quarter achieved certain results. .

Specifically, the economy recovered and developed significantly, GDP growth in the 1st quarter reached 2.83 percent; sectors I, II and III all increased compared to the same period in 2021. Total state budget revenue in the 1st quarter was VND 6,842 billion, reaching 39.4 percent of the estimate, up 13.3 percent over the same period (domestic revenue was VND 5,751 billion, reaching 42.3 percent of the assigned estimate, 17.6 percent increase over the same period).

Long An has attracted many domestic and foreign projects; disbursement of public investment capital was implemented drastically, the province disbursed over VND 730 billion of public investment capital. Other sectors are directed to fully implement, meeting the set plan.

At the conference, departments, branches and localities proposed the solutions for socio-economic development in the 2nd quarter.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Nguyen Van Ut highly appreciated the results in the1st quarter. On that basis, he directed departments, agencies, sectors and localities to focus on key tasks in the 2nd quarter such as implementing solutions to cope with drought, water shortage, and saltwater intrusion in the dry season 2021- 2022; continuing to monitor and fight epidemics in livestock and poultry.

The departments, sectors and localities must also promptly remove difficulties in order to timely disburse the allocated investment capital in 2022, especially to ensure site clearance for traffic works. At the latest in the second quarter of 2022, new projects that have been planned must be started. Construction works that do not guarantee the start-up time must resolutely transfer capital sources in order to timely disburse and handle the responsibility of the investor without completing the tasks.

Regarding planning, the province will actively coordinate with consultant to make provincial planning on schedule and with quality to promptly submit to the Prime Minister in May 2022.

Long An will implement the implementation plan of Resolution No. 25-NQ/TU dated November 4, 2021 of the Provincial Party Committee on improvingn the efficiency of compensation, site clearance and resettlement when the State recovers land; inspect, strictly handle and prevent subdivision of plots for sale.

The province will focus on collecting the State budget to ensure completion according to the plan; develop a plan to prevent and control the Covid-19 epidemic in accordance with the actual situation.
