Minister of Science and Technology visits Huy Long An - My Binh Co., Ltd

On June 22, Minister of Science and Technology - Huynh Thanh Dat led the delegation to visit Huy Long An - My Binh Co., Ltd (My Binh commune, Duc Hue district, Long An province).

Vice Chairman of People's Committee of Long An province - Nguyen Minh Lam; leaders of the Department of Science and Technology, Department of Agriculture and Rural Development; Director of Huy Long An - My Binh Co., Ltd - Vo Quan Huy welcomed the delegation.

Here, the delegation visited the orchard and introduced the high-tech banana growing model, the industrial cow farming in combination with banana planting under the closed process model of Huy Long An - My Binh Co., Ltd.

Huy Long An - My Binh is a large-scale agricultural enterprise of the province in the field of animal husbandry; buffaloes and cows breeding; fruit trees planting; meat, vegetable and fruit processing and organic fertilizer production. The company was granted the Certificate of Agricultural Enterprise applied by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development in May 2018.

Currently, the company grows 150 hectares of high-tech bananas, the average yield is 66 tons per hectare per year, the output is 10,000 tons per year; the company also raises 4,000 - 5,000 beef cows per year. In addition, the company also grows and processes other fruit trees such as mango, pomelo, mangosteen, etc. All farms are invested in a closed process from seeding, planting, harvesting and packaging bananas for export, under the close supervision of a team of experienced, highly qualified technicians and foreign experts.

Banana product branded FOHLA of Huy Long An - My Binh Co., Ltd has a stable consumption market in Japan, Korea, China, etc.and domestic market.

Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Long An province - Nguyen Minh Lam suggested the Ministry of Science and Technology continue to support the province to implement a breakthrough program on hi-tech applied agriculture program

Director of the Department of Science and Technology - Nguyen Minh Hai proposed to the delegation and experts to support the company to access preferential policies in the application of high technology and scientific and technological advances in production; supporting the registration process to establish trademark ownership for FOHLA banana and pomelo products in some potential foreign markets.

Besides, he also proposed to build science and technology tasks for the cycle from breeding to cultivation using high technology to improve the value of the company's products; build and promote brands in the national supply chain for the company's key and potential products such as banana, grapefruit, mango, beef, etc.

At the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Nguyen Minh Lam hoped that the Ministry of Science and Technology, experts, scientists and related agencies would continue to support the province more, especially in high-tech agriculture so that the province could implement this program more effectively in the coming time.

Minister of Science and Technology - Huynh Thanh Dat noted the proposals of the province as well as of Huy Long An - My Binh Co., Ltd. He also asked the Department of Science and Technology to continue to contact businesses in the area to provide timely support.

The ministry and experts would continue to research, transfer science and technology, advise and develop appropriate policies according to the Government's resolutions to contribute to the overall development of the Mekong Delta region, including Long An./.
