By the end of August 2019, the whole nation had a total capital source for poverty reduction policy credit of over 207,000 billion VND, an increase of more than 63,000 billion VND. Accordingly, the nation has nearly 8 million turns of poor households and other policy beneficiaries entitled to borrow from the Bank for Social Policies, with loan sales reaching over 221,000 billion VND, contributing to helping over 1.4 million households across the poverty line; it created jobs for over 775,000 workers; nearly 200,000 students in difficult circumstances can borrow study capital; nearly 4.9 million constructions of clean water, rural environmental sanitation and over 108,000 houses for poor households.

Particularly in Long An, in the period 2016-2020, the provincial policy credit contributes to reducing poor households from 4.03 percent (in 2016) to 2.21 percent (as of the first 9 months of 2019), reducing near-poor households from 3.78 percent (in 2016) to 3.41 percent (as of the first 9 months of 2019).

In addition to the achieved results, policy credit activities still face many difficulties. Specifically, the lending rate for student-like programs, job creation, clean water and sanitation is low; policy credit quality is uneven, some localities have overdue debt ratio is still high; the coordination between Bank for Social Policy and unions is not close; Some localities are not interested in policy credit; etc.

Deputy Prime Minister - Vuong Dinh Hue acknowledged the efforts of all levels and sectors in effectively implementing policy credit capital, contributing to the good implementation of social security and sustainable poverty reduction. He requested that all levels, sectors and localities should continue to well implement Directive No. 40-CT/TW, dated November 22, 2014 of the Party Central Committee's Secretariat on strengthening the Party's leadership to the faithful policy application; strengthening and supplementing the local capital entrusted to the Bank for Social Policy to promptly bring capital to the policy beneficiaries; to increase the maximum loan term of the policy program of households just getting out of poverty to 10 years; study and expand lending to pupils and students in difficult circumstances; ...

On this occasion, the Bank for Social Policy rewarded 286 collectives and individuals for outstanding achievements in implementing the poverty reduction target book for the period 2016-2020, of which, Long An had 2 collectives and 2 individuals rewarded./.
