Vice Chairman of Long An Provincial People's Committee suddenly checks the prevention of African swine fever

On June 4, Vice Chairman of Long An Provincial People's Committee - Pham Van Canh suddenly checked the animal quarantine checkpoints and slaughterhouses in some localities in the province because of the complicated situation of the African swine fever.

Vice Chairman of Long An Provincial People's Committee - Pham Van Canh (R, 1st) suddenly checked the animal quarantine checkpoints

To be more specific, the delegation suddenly inspected animal quarantine checkpoints in Tan An city, Ben Luc district, Can Giuoc district and a pig slaughterhouse in Tan Tru district. The delegation checked the process of controlling pig transport vehicles through the province, related procedures on animal origin, and so on. In which, most of the vehicles come from some Nothern provinces, Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Binh Phuoc, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Tien Giang, Dong Thap, Ben Tre and Vinh Long provinces, etc.

Long An is the gateway from the southeastern provinces to the Mekong Delta provinces, so the risk of infection of ASF into the province is very high. Therefore, the delegation asked the checkpoints to strictly implement the animal quarantine process, spray antiseptic, check the animal quarantine certificate before transporting pigs to the slaughterhouses.

According to the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Pham Van Canh, the checkpoints have well implemented the animal quarantine process, ensured personnel and working time. However, facing with the complicated situation of epidemic in the country in general, the Mekong Delta provinces in particular, the Steering Committee of the prevention and control of ASF in the localities have to actively prevent the epidemic.

In particular, the quarantine checkpoints have to continue to check and prevent absolutely the transport of pigs and pork products of unknown origin into the province.

The slaughterhouses must comply with regulations, sterilize and strictly control the source of pigs for slaughtering.

Until June 4, Long An has had 18 animal quarantine checkpoints in Tan An city, Ben Luc, Duc Hoa, Vinh Hung, Can Giuoc, Can Duoc, Tan Thanh, Chau Thanh and Tan Hung districts./.
