The 50th UPU International in 2021 attracted more than 1 million handwritten letters from students from grades 5 to 10 across the country. The Organizing Committee selected more than 100 excellent letters to award.
Participating in the contest, the children will play the role of messengers to tell international friends about the fight against Covid-19. The contest was co-organized by the Ministry of Information and Communications, the Vietnam Post Corporation, the Ministry of Education and Training, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, and the Youth Newspaper Pioneer and Children.
The purpose of the Competition is to contribute to the development of students' writing ability and creative thinking; foster and nurture the feelings and responsibilities of the young generation towards society, the country and the world; help them understand more about the role of the postal industry in life and social development. Every year, the Universal Postal Union selects an outstanding issue, global and human issues, to create a theme for the contest.
It is known that the 51st UPU International Letter-writing Contest in 2022 was held with the theme "Write a letter to an influential person to explain why and how they need to act on the climate crisis"./.
