Post and telecommunications revenue reaches over 1,000 billion VND in first 6 months of 2019
On August 23, Long An Department of Information and Communications (DoIC) held a conference in the first 6 months of 2019 with post and telecommunications enterprises in the province. Director of DoIC - Nguyen Ba Luan chaired the conference.

In the first 6 months of 2019, enterprises of IC sector overcome difficulties, expand networks, facilities, improve service quality, care and attract customers. Revenue of post and telecommunications in the past 6 months reached over 1,000 billion VND, paid over 48 billion VND to the state budget.
Postal services are fully provided with three main services: delivery postage - postal finance - communication distribution. The provincial post office receives the dossiers and returns the results of administrative procedures settlement through public postal services with a total of over 87,700 records.
In addition, businesses have gradually built the delivery and logistics infrastructure to serve e-commerce development. In the field of telecommunications, enterprises invest in building, expanding and improving the quality of 3G and 4G wave coverage. In particular, businesses completed laying down telecommunication cables at 7 routes with a total length of 4,600 meters in the city of Tan An.
At the conference, businesses raised difficulties and obstacles across the past time. For telecommunications enterprises, the level of competition in the postal market is increasingly fierce, especially among large enterprises; Difficulties in attracting employees have resulted in the demand of service users at times. For telecommunication enterprises, the expansion of network infrastructure is still limited in terms of capital sources, leading to difficulties in subscriber development and participation in digital network transfer services, and so on.

Currently, the level of competition in the provision of Internet services and pay television in the country in general and in the province is increasing. Investment costs are growing, while service rates and competitive pressures lead to low profits.

Speaking at the conference, Director of DoIC - Nguyen Ba Luan acknowledged and praised the business activities of enterprises in the first 6 months of 2019 associated with the province's socio-economic development. At the same time, he recommended that post and telecommunications enterprises implement the pilot project to implement and provide public services through public postal networks and public postal services; deploying modernization of the postal network as a foundation for e-commerce development. These enterprises should effectively implement problems about garbage SIM, spam messages, spam calls, spam email; complete the transformation of 4 antenna tower locations on National Highway 1A; build the underground infrastructure of telecommunication cables properly, and so on./.
