Nearly 200 typical journalists commended

On June 13, in Hanoi Capital, the Central Department of Propaganda and Training in collaboration with the Ministry of Information and Communications, the Vietnam Journalists Association, the People's Newspaper and the Vietnam Television organized a conference to commend typical journalists on the 95th anniversary of the Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925- June 21, 2020).

Politburo Member, the Standing Committee of the Secretariat - Tran Quoc Vuong, the leaders of the Party, the State, the Central Committee and Ministries attended the commendation meeting.

In particular, the conference welcomed 7 revolutionary old journalists and 187 typical journalists representing over 41,000 journalists across the country.

At the conference, Deputy Head of the Central Department of Propaganda and Training - Le Manh Hung affirmed that the press as well as the nationwide journalists contact the reality of life, stick to the people, make important contributions to the struggle, defense for the country and accompany, actively participate in the process of national renewal during the process of formation and development, deeply associated with the nation's history.

Over the past 95 years, the Vietnamese revolutionary press has reflected deeply, comprehensively and vividly social life, closely and promptly reflected the undertakings, guidelines and policies of the Party and the laws of the State to refute the wrongdoings, hostile arguments, protect the Party's ideological foundation as well as introduce new models, good practices, portraits, good people and good deeds. Since then, it contributes to improving the people's intellectual standards, social orientation towards good values, humanity in life.

According to the Central Propaganda Department, this is the first time the concerned agencies have organized a meeting to commend and reward the typical journalists in the whole country on the occasion of the anniversary of journalism and journalists. Thereby, it expresses the interest and recognition of the Party and the State for the contributions and achievements of the staff of officials, reporters, editors and revolutionaries of Vietnam; honor, commend and reward typical journalists who have many achievements on the front of the press in the current period. This is also an opportunity for journalists throughout the country to meet, exchange, and share experiences in order to further improve their roles, responsibilities and better perform their tasks in the coming time.

Speaking at the conference, Politburo member, Standing Committee Secretary - Tran Quoc Vuong praised the contributions of the revolutionary Vietnamese press, a team of reporters, editors and journalists throughout the cause of construction and national defense.

Politburo member, Standing Secretariat - Tran Quoc Vuong emphasized that every journalist must follow Uncle Ho in journalism work. Each article needs honest information, appropriate to the interests of the country and the people. The press agencies and journalists must be a shocking force on the front of the cultural and ideological front, bringing the Party and State's undertakings, guidelines and policies to the people as well as fighting, retaliating the distorting allegations, tricks of hostile forces to fight against the revolution of our country. Besides, Mr. Tran Quoc Vuong suggested that every journalist should continue to study and foster professional skills as well as political skills worthy of being the next generation to build revolutionary Vietnamese press.

Earlier, a delegation of journalists visited President Ho Chi Minh's mausoleum, offered incense at the monument to the heroic martyr and had a conversation with National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan and met with the Party Committee of Hanoi city./.
