Over 900 million VND to renovate Long An Stadium

Long An Provincial Stadium will have its turf, functional areas, athletes' rest areas, etc renovated at a cost of over 900 million VND.

On June 30, Long An Sports Training and Competition Center said that immediately after the end of the national First Division football tournament, Long An will renovate its stadium with a number of items to meet the requirements of training and sports competition.

According to Director of Long An Sports Training and Competition Center - Nguyen Bao Hoan, from the degraded reality of Long An Stadium as well as recommendations from the sports industry, the Project Management Board of the province's civil and industrial project has approved the dossier to renovate Long An Provincial Stadium with an estimated value of more than 900 million VND.

The provincial stadium will be renovated with many items to serve training and sports competitions

Accordingly, Long An Stadium will have its turf, functional areas, athletes' rest area and some other items repaired to ensure organizational and physical training requirements. The renovation of Long An Stadium is only temporary while waiting for the construction of a new stadium in the planned provincial sports complex.

Long An Provincial Stadium with nearly 75,000 square meters wide, was built nearly 40 years ago, completed and put into use in mid-1984 with a capacity of 25,000 seats to serve the SKADA football tournament - the Army Football Tournament of socialist country. This was considered the largest stadium in the South at that time and was the pride of Long An football fans.

After being put into use, many items of the stadium were seriously degraded, only ensuring about 10,000 seats. In addition to organizing major tournaments and fitness and sports activities of the province, Long An Stadium is also a place for training and common activities for talented athletes of the Provincial physical education and sports training and competition center./.
