Teachers integrate the content of moral education, life skills and prevention of school violence in the lessons
Moral education, life skills
Hoa Thanh Secondary School (Duc Hue commune) always identifies moral education and life skills as one of the key tasks in the process of comprehensively educating students. The school focuses on promoting the capacity and creativity of each individual, forming for students the right values of life and civilized attitudes of behavior, and equipping students with the necessary skills to be confident in their daily learning as well as in real-life situations, thereby expressing themselves and learning to live positively and responsibly.
The school regularly integrates moral education and life skills into regular lessons, in flag-salute activities, class activities and other educational activities to help students approach this content naturally, linked to real-life situations.

Teachers educate students on drowning prevention skills
Vice Principal of Hoa Thanh Secondary School Le Thi Kim Lien said, “The school coordinates with local departments, branches and organizations to regularly organize extracurricular activities, propaganda, and flag-raising talks on topics such as civilized school behavior, traffic safety, prevention of online fraud, online kidnapping, skills to control emotions and resolve conflicts. Thereby, students are raised in awareness, nurtured in moral sentiments, and know how to love, share, respect and help each other in studying as well as in daily life.
In addition, homeroom teachers are always attentive, grasp the psychology of students, and closely coordinate with parents to promptly detect, prevent and correct deviant manifestations in their behavior and attitudes. From there, good personality is formed, good lifestyle is fostered, helping them to know how to self-regulate their behavior, respect themselves and others, and know how to behave appropriately in social relationships. This is also the foundation for building a safe, healthy, friendly educational environment, helping students develop comprehensively in terms of intelligence, physical strength, spirit, and social skills. Through this, the school aims to educate students to become knowledgeable, well-mannered, responsible, and loving people.
Joining hands to prevent and combat school violence

Vice Principal of Vo Van Tan High School (My Hanh Commune) Tran Van Phuc commented, “School violence is a painful and complicated problem, not only causing physical and mental harm to the victims but also negatively affecting the general learning environment and the psychological development of the perpetrators. It is a major barrier to the goal of building a safe and friendly educational environment, according to the 2018 General Education Program. This problem is not only manifested through physical behavior but also spreads in cyberspace, directly affecting the good qualities, responsibility and autonomy of students. This is a challenge that requires the joint efforts of the whole society, especially schools and families. The school has been implementing many solutions to prevent and combat school violence, focusing on remote prevention solutions—timely intervention—and comprehensive support.”
Accordingly, Vo Van Tan High School often integrates and incorporates the content of preventing and combating school violence into subjects, especially Economic and Legal Education, Experiential Activities and Career Guidance, while focusing on the topics of emotional control skills, negotiation, conflict resolution, and respect for differences. In addition, the school promotes the law by organizing forums and discussions on the legal consequences of violent acts according to the Civil Code, Criminal Code, and Children's Law; maintains and improves the effectiveness of the Psychological Counseling Department to detect early students at risk of violence or violent acts, and conducts timely individual and group counseling.
The school also builds a safe reporting channel by setting up a system to receive information about violence that ensures confidentiality and timeliness to protect reporters; establishes a core team, such as training homeroom teachers and Youth Union officials to conduct conflict mediation.
In particular, Vo Van Tan High School focuses on community coordination, such as closely connecting with families to regularly exchange and organize training sessions for parents on signs and how to handle when their children are victims or perpetrators of school violence and coordinating with the police and local authorities to strictly handle complicated cases of a criminal nature.
Teachers at schools also pay attention to and focus on implementing the work of preventing and combating school violence. According to Ms. Truong Thi Thuy Kieu, a teacher at Tam Vu Town Primary School (Tam Vu Commune), school violence is currently a worrying issue, although it is not common at the primary level, there are still manifestations such as saying harsh words, teasing or boycotting friends. The main reason is that students lack the skills to control their emotions and do not know how to behave when conflicts arise.

Children are educated about traffic safety
School violence is not just about fighting or quarreling, but sometimes it is a hurtful word, a contemptuous look, or isolating a weak friend. At the primary school age, children do not know how to express their emotions, so when they are angry with each other, they easily use words or actions without restraint.
Ms. Thuy Kieu affirmed, “Preventing school violence is not waiting until something happens to deal with it, but it is sowing seeds of love in students every day. In class, I create an atmosphere of “everyone is respected.” Every morning, the whole class says a positive sentence together—“Today I will smile more, love more, and help my friends more”—to start the school day with positive energy. Before leaving, I always let the children say thank you: "Thank you teacher, thank you friends, thank you parents" At first, they are shy and embarrassed, but then they form good habits, knowing how to say thank you and how to apologize.
Ms. Thuy Kieu also often tells students small stories about kindness, such as picking up notebooks, books, pens, rulers, picking up lost items from others and returning them; or being willing to give up your gifts to others. After each story, the students say what they feel so that kindness naturally grows in their hearts.
She also built a "Reconciliation Corner" in the classroom—where students can write down what they are sad about or misunderstand so that she and her friends can find a solution together. This method helps students learn to speak out instead of keeping it inside or reacting negatively.
At the same time, she coordinates with parents and communicates regularly to help students practice patience, know how to apologize and how to sympathize. When students live in an environment full of love and listening, violence will have no place to exist.
Moral education, life skills and prevention of school violence not only help students love, respect and live compassionately but also contribute to building a safe and healthy educational environment, where each student can develop comprehensively in knowledge, personality and soul./.
