More than 30 scientific reports were presented at the event, focusing on the application of biotechnological advances in the fields of agriculture, medicine and food.
Participants said scientific research activities are taking place widely at universities and research institutes. However, the application of scientific outcomes to production is facing a number of difficulties.
For example, some studies focus on highly specialised fields while the connectivity between scientists and businesses remains limited. As a result, many useful scientific research outcomes cannot find their way to reality.
Director of the Hue University’s Institute of Biotechnology Truong Thi Hong Hai said universities are moving towards autonomy, and the commercialisation of scientific research results is important to create sources of revenue.
She added that scientists and businesses should shake hands to commercialise products./.
