Rector of Long An College - Le Quoc Hung said: "The college is provided with a budget to invest in facilities, equipment and machinery to meet the needs of vocational training in the direction of industrialization and modernization. Typically, at the 6th session, the Xth Provincial People's Council (term of 2021 - 2026) approved the investment policy of Long An College with a total investment of 77 billion VND from the central budget and the provincial budget.
In addition, the college is also supported by the German Development Cooperation (GIZ) in investing in modern machinery and equipment according to the standards of the Federal Republic of Germany; training and fostering lecturers and managers; arranging experts to train mechatronics according to German standards; providing scholarships for students; etc.

Thanks to the above advantages, we believe that the college will train highly skilled human resources, basically meeting the needs of the labor market, especially the key economic sectors of the province, contributing to improving the quality of human resources and improving the quality of human resources and basically turning Long An into an industrial province.
Strengthening information and propaganda is considered as a measure to change people's awareness of the importance of vocational education in the market economy, which requires skilled and highly technical workers. Accordingly, vocational education institutions have actively propagated through many forms such as coordination with press agencies; posting information on their websites; direct approaching to workers through career guidance, annual enrollment; organizing job fairs; organizing for students of high schools and junior high schools to visit the vocational training institutions.

The highlight in the process of improving the quality of human resources in the province is also the implementation of the Project on sending laborers to work abroad under contracts. The goal of the project is to send 1,000 laborers to work abroad under contract each year. In 2022, the province has based on the actual situation to assign specific targets to localities.
Therefore, the localities need to actively mobilize, propagate and connect with relevant units to provide advice, career orientation and labor market for employees, contributing to the accomplishment of assigned targets. However, localities still face many difficulties in finding laborers to work abroad. The main reason is that the propaganda is not comprehensive. At the same time, there has not been the involvement of the whole political system.
Currently, most localities in the province have not met the target. According to the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, from the beginning of 2022 until now, the province has only 303 people working abroad under contract (283 people in Japan, 17 people in Taiwan, the rest working in other countries).

In addition, the province faces many difficulties in vocational education. Specifically, firstly, the enrollment size of intermediate and college students is still low compared to the total number of enrollments. Secondly, the teaching staff is lacking in comparison to the training scale. Thirdly, training equipment of some professions has not been fully invested.
Deputy Director of the Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs - Nguyen Dai Tanh said: “In the coming time, the Department will continue to improve the effectiveness of propaganda on sending workers to work abroad, streaming and training human resources; provide information on vocational training enrollment of vocational education institutions, recruitment needs of enterprises for the media, digital applications; focus on implementing directly to high schools, junior high schools; capacity building of vocational education institutions. At the same time, the Department will create conditions for vocational education institutions to implement policies to attract teachers or send teachers periodically to practice in enterprises to access the latest techniques; at the same time, request vocational education institutions to review, update and renew their curricula to improve teaching quality”.
The Department also continues to call on businesses to improve wages and incentives to retain workers and attract labor from neighboring provinces to Long An; implements policies on supporting workers and employers, vocational training for workers in small and medium-sized enterprises, contributing to attracting workers to meet the needs of enterprises in the fields of industry and agriculture.

Currently, in Long An province, trained workers reach 72.49%, of which, workers with degrees and certificates reach 31.41%. By 2025, the province has set a target of having 75% trained workers, of which 35% have degrees and certificates. In order to achieve the set goals, it is necessary to join hands and contribute efforts of all levels, sectors and the whole society to contribute to the rapid development of the province in the direction of industrialization and modernization./. |
