Promoting connection between labor supply and demand
In the context of the local economy undergoing strong changes, the demand for quality labor resources is increasing. Promoting the connection between labor supply and demand helps solve the difficult problem of human resources, creating many job opportunities for local workers.
Effectiveness of supply-demand connection activities
In 2024, the Long An Employment Service Center played an important role connecting employees and enterprises, helping to balance the labor market.
Through 21 online and mobile job exchanges, 224 enterprises participated in recruitment with 28,245 job positions, attracting 6,401 participants. Of which, 959 employees were successfully interviewed. At the same time, the center provided consultation to more than 230,000 people and helped 2,700 people find suitable jobs.
Deputy Director of Long An Employment Service Center - Tran Quoc Bao informed: “In the first quarter of 2025, enterprises registered for recruitment through Long An Employment Service Center with 7,198 positions. To support enterprises in finding suitable personnel and employees, the Center implemented many practical activities such as consulting for 36,878 employees, successfully introducing 655 people to jobs, organizing 29 career counseling sessions for nearly 2,000 secondary school students; coordinating with training institutions to link recruitment and introduce jobs for 141 graduates”.
Long An Employment Service Center staff provide job counseling and career guidance to workers
To promote the connection between labor supply and demand, Long An Employment Service Center has coordinated with Can Tho City Employment Service Center to organize an online job fair in the Mekong Delta, Southeast region and neighboring provinces and cities in the first quarter of 2025. In Long An, 21 enterprises registered to recruit 2,130 positions such as administrative personnel, logistics, sales, attracting 218 workers to participate.
Within the framework of the fair, workers learned about domestic and foreign job opportunities, job search skills, profile building, and making a good impression on employers. By March 25, 2025, enterprises interviewed and received profiles of 42 workers.
“In the coming time, the Center will continue to innovate its operating methods, increase the application of information technology, diversify forms of consulting and job introduction, focus on connecting labor supply and demand to solve employment in localities, especially remote areas.
In particular, the Center coordinates with localities to organize consulting and introduce new jobs for civil servants and employees in communes due to the implementation of the province's merger project" - Mr. Tran Quoc Bao said.
To meet the needs of the labor market, Long An University of Industry and Economics focuses on creating a solid connection between students and businesses. In the 2024-2025 school year, the school will promote cooperation with more than 20 businesses, organize job fairs, and specialized seminars to help connect students with employers in and outside the province.
Thereby, students are equipped with necessary skills such as writing CVs and professional knowledge applied in practice at businesses. These activities attracted more than 1,000 students, helping about 94% of students find jobs after graduation.
Career counseling programs and job fairs are opportunities for businesses to directly assess candidates' abilities, participate in the process of building the curriculum, ensuring its suitability to reality. Thanks to that, students are not only equipped with professional knowledge but also practice soft skills, confident in communication, ready to meet recruitment requirements, and have the opportunity to do internships at enterprises". Head of department of International Relations, Business Relations and Student Affairs, Long An University of Industry and Economics - Prof. Dr. Truong Quang Vinh With the orientation of working in Accounting, I am studying Japanese and wish to work in this country. Thanks to that, I am more confident in my career orientation and know how to prepare application documents to work in Japan". Nguyen Phuoc Kim Hoang (born in 2007, residing in Ward 5, Tan An City) |
Local cooperation
In order to promote the connection between supply and demand and solve employment problems for workers, many localities in the province regularly organize job fairs and provide consultations on sending workers abroad.
In recent times, Moc Hoa district has successfully implemented the Project on sending workers to work abroad under contracts. In 2024, the district had 17 workers working in Japan, Taiwan, Korea, Malaysia, etc.
The above results are the efforts of the District Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs (now the District Department of Home Affairs) in coordination with agencies, departments, branches, and socio-political organizations.
In 2024, the Department coordinated with the Youth Union and the District Women's Union to organize a Job Fair for about 200 people including demobilized soldiers, workers looking for jobs, and 12th grade students; coordinated with the People's Committees of communes, towns and Long An Employment Service Center to organize mobile job fairs in the district with the participation of about 300 workers and 12th grade students.
Activities such as job fairs and seminars organized by Long An University of Industry and Economics attracted more than 1,000 students.
In addition, the Department also actively promoted job creation, supporting workers to find jobs suitable to their qualifications and skills on radio.
At the same time, the Department coordinated with the District Social Policy Bank Transaction Office to support workers to borrow preferential loans from the National Employment Fund and local budget sources entrusted through banks.
In recent years, Thanh Hoa district has focused on disseminating policies on vocational training, job creation, creating opportunities for workers to find jobs abroad, increasing income, contributing to economic development and sustainable poverty reduction.
From July 2 to 4, 2024, the District Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs (now the District Department of Home Affairs) coordinated with Thinh Long Investment and Trade Group Joint Stock Company to organize a Conference on vocational training, job placement and sending workers to work abroad under contracts in 2024.
At the implementation locations, the Company provided information of the Project on sending workers to work abroad under contracts in Long An province, period 2020-2025; related legal regulations and support policies; conditions, occupational groups; registration methods and benefits when working abroad under contracts.
At the same time, it provided guidance on choosing occupations suitable to the interests, needs and abilities of workers, and disseminated social development trends so that workers could find suitable jobs.
Workers have the opportunity to work in labor markets such as Japan, Taiwan, Qatar and some European countries with salaries ranging from 20-35 million VND/month, depending on the industry and working time.
In 2024, the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Thanh Hoa district (now the Department of Home Affairs of Thanh Hoa district) organized many job fairs
In addition, local authorities at all levels have also done a good job of investigating, updating, and storing market information, fluctuations in the quantity and quality of labor, and vocational training needs of people to have training plans associated with solving on-site employment, developing the labor market through job fairs.
Promoting the connection between labor supply and demand not only solves the employment problem for local workers but also promotes socio-economic development.
To achieve this goal, there needs to be synchronous, effective solutions that are suitable to the actual situation and the cooperation and consensus of authorities at all levels and the people./.
