On November 16, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Long An province organized a delegation to inspect the preparation for preventing, controlling and responding to the situation of drought, water shortage, and salinity intrusion in the dry season 2021-2022 in the districts of Can Duoc and Can Giuoc.

The delegation surveyed some areas that are likely to be short of water, at risk of being affected by saline intrusion, and inspect the actual salinity prevention sluices in the locality; production plan for winter-spring crop 2021 - 2022, summer-autumn crop in 2022; plans for investment, repair and dredging of irrigation canals in service of drought and salinity control; the situation of water sources for irrigation in service of production, the area likely to be affected by drought, water shortage, salinity intrusion in the dry season and proposed remedial measures; the situation of domestic water supply serving local people, etc.
Here, the delegation recognized and praised the efforts of all levels and branches of Can Duoc and Can Giuoc districts in proactively taking measures to prevent, combat and respond to drought, water shortage and salinity intrusion in the dry season 2021 - 2022.
At the same time, the delegation asked localities to regularly measure salinity on river routes to take appropriate measures to take water; proactively inspecting sluices to prevent salinity intrusion to overcome the leakage of salt water into the field; promote propaganda, recommend that people sow in accordance with the seasonal schedule and change the structure of crops and livestock to adapt to the situation of climate change, etc.
As for the recommendations of Can Duoc and Can Giuoc districts, the delegation has not been able to solve, especially urgent works, the mission will record them, then it will advise all levels and branches to solve them./.
