The functional sector meets and exchanges with workers working abroad under contracts
The project of sending workers to work abroad under contracts aims to maximize the potential and advantages of local labor resources, contributing to the socio-economic development of the province, improving the quality of labor resources through the Program of sending workers to work abroad, shifting the labor structure, building new rural areas, restructuring the agricultural sector, meeting the needs of industrialization, modernization and integration of the province.
In 2024, Long An province sent 1,147 people to work abroad. Of which, the Japanese market received 724 people, Taiwan received 142 people, and other countries received 281 people.
Since the implementation of the Project on sending workers to work abroad under contracts in Long An province 2020 - 2025, by the end of 2024, Long An province has sent 2,758 workers. Of which, the Japanese market has received 2,107 people, Taiwan has received 291 people, and other countries have received 360 people.
In 2025, the province has set a target of sending 2,000 workers to work abroad under contracts. Specifically, Duc Hoa district will send 321 people, Can Giuoc district will send 235 people, Can Duoc district will send 234 people, Ben Luc district will send 200 people, Duc Hue district will send 160 people, Tan An city will send 121 people, Thu Thua district will send 116 people, Chau Thanh district will send 107 people, Tan Thanh district will send 100 people, Tan Tru district will send 94 people, Thanh Hoa district will send 72 people, Tan Hung district will send 66 people, Kien Tuong town will send 64 people, Vinh Hung district will send 58 people and Moc Hoa district will send 52 people.
To achieve the above goals, the Provincial People's Committee directed provincial departments, branches and authorities at all levels to coordinate with socio-political organizations to advise the Party Committee to thoroughly grasp the work of sending workers to work abroad; considering this one of the key tasks associated with the local socio-economic development strategy.
From the assigned targets, localities must proactively develop plans and specific measures to promote the work of sending workers to work abroad in the area, striving to complete the targets set out in the Project.
The province also develops a plan to implement the contents of consulting and propaganda for students, workers, and propaganda collaborators in communes, wards, and towns; implement consulting and career guidance activities at high schools in the province; consulting and propaganda for students of Long An province studying at universities and colleges outside the province.
At the same time, develop documents and propaganda content; broadcast consulting and propaganda content on activities to send workers to work abroad (on average 1 month/1 topic, 1 propaganda topic in 10 days). Organize mobile job fairs in localities. Promote vocational training, foreign languages, orientation education; coordinate in foreign language training and orientation education in localities. Support loans, procedures and documents when workers go to work abroad.
According to the plan, in the first quarter of 2025, relevant sector will survey and review the needs of workers who need to work abroad, develop a plan to coordinate with organizations, units and individuals responsible for sending workers to work abroad to determine specific targets for each quarter in 2025 and organize implementation.
The province will also organize a conference to deploy the plan to work abroad in 2025 with units, organizations and individuals responsible for sending workers to work abroad, thereby determining targets for each unit; sign cooperation agreements with localities in Korea to implement seasonal work programs; sign memorandums of understanding and cooperation agreements with departments and branches of Ibaraki province, Japan; search for partners, expand the market to send workers to work in Taiwan, Australia, European countries (Germany, Finland, etc.), China, Canada and seasonal workers in Korea./.
