Long An will create condition for 2,000 workers to work abroad by 2024

In 2024, Long An province is striving to facilitate and send 2,000 workers to work abroad under contract.

Accordingly, the Provincial People's Committee requests provincial departments, branches, members of the Project Steering Committee and authorities at all levels to coordinate with socio-political organizations to advise the Party Committee to deeply grasp the project of sending workers abroad, considering this as one of the key tasks associated with the local socio-economic development strategy.

Localities must proactively develop plans and specific measures to promote the work of sending workers abroad, striving to complete the targets set out in the project.

Specifically, localities must strengthen the organization of deep and wide propaganda about the policy of sending workers to work abroad according to the 2024 Project in many appropriate forms; Direct consulting in communes, wards, towns, consulting among students of Long An province studying at universities and colleges in Ho Chi Minh City, through propaganda and introduction of socio-political policy to raise people's awareness about sending workers to work abroad.

Organize education and training to improve capacity in consulting skills, job introduction and labor supply to work domestically and abroad for cadres, civil servants, public employees and collaborators.

In the work of generating resources, related sectors must build a plan to closely coordinate organizations, units and individuals with the function of sending workers to work abroad to determine specific targets for each quarter in 2024, promptly grasp recruitment needs, conditions and selection standards to widely inform workers, relevant units and agencies and have plans to coordinate implementation.

Closely coordinate with organizations, units and individuals with the function of sending workers to work abroad to connect provinces in Japan and Korea where Long An province has signed a joint statement to determine the needs quantity and recruitment demand, thereby building a training plan and creating appropriate condition.

Survey and review the needs of workers in groups wishing to work abroad. Focus on consulting and recruiting the unemployed; demobilized soldiers, high school seniors, pupils and students at vocational education establishments.

Support foreign labor market information through organizing job transaction sessions at Long An Employment Service Center and in districts, towns, cities, etc.

Previously, in 2023, the whole province sent 705 workers to work abroad. Of which, 565 workers were sent to Japan, 73 workers to Taiwan, and 67 workers to other countries, contributing to stabilizing and improving the lives of workers, improving the quality of human resources, and serving local socio-economic development./.
