Long An has sent 1,583 workers working abroad since 2020
On December 14, People's Committee of Long An province organized a preliminary conference to summarize the Project of sending workers to work abroad under contracts, period 2020-2025. Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Pham Tan Hoa chaired the conference.

Since 2020, the province has sent 1,583 workers working abroad (including 1,358 people to Japan, 146 people to Taiwan, and 79 people to other countries). The Provincial Social Policy Bank received and disbursed funds for 97 workers to work abroad for a limited time with a total amount of VND 7,656 billion.

The work of sending workers abroad has achieved results through the signing Memorandum of Cooperation in the field of labor with the government of Ibaraki province and many memorandum of cooperation agreements with businesses that have the function of sending workers to work abroad.
Regarding propaganda and consulting work, the province implements it in many forms such as organizing seminars, conferences, and mobile job exchanges in localities; posting news and reportage articles in the media; integrating into the activity programs of local associations and unions.
Recently, the province coordinated with Esuhai Co. Ltd. to organize 3 workshops "Training high-quality human resources through the program of selecting, training and sending workers from Long An province to Japan to work and experience to return to develop the homeland". Agencies and localities coordinate to organize propaganda workshops to classify 12th grade students into vocational training in 2022 and 2023 to participate in the program to select and train high-quality human resources.
Besides the results achieved, the work of sending workers to work abroad in the province still has some limitations and difficulties such as the small number of participating workers; skills and foreign language skills are not high; access to loans is still low.
At the conference, agencies, units and localities reported and discussed the results, advantages and difficulties when implementing the Project on sending workers to work abroad in the period 2020-2025. Thereby, delegates proposed and recommended solutions on propaganda, consulting, vocational training, and foreign language activities to implement the project more effectively in the future.

Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Committee - Pham Tan Hoa requested that provincial departments, branches, and People's Committees of districts, towns and cities focus on strengthening extensive propaganda in many appropriate forms; disseminate and support the settlement of capital loans quickly and promptly according to procedures; develop vocational and foreign language training plans for workers working abroad.
