Emulation is patriotism; patriotism requires emulation

During his lifetime, President Ho Chi Minh always advised, "Emulation is patriotism, patriotism requires emulation, and those who emulate are the most patriotic people". He wanted everyone, in any position, to compete to do better, more and more effectively. That spirit is now and forever the "fire" that drives the patriotic emulation movement in all areas of social life.

In particular, immediately after organizing the 2021-2025 Patriotic Emulation Congress, Tay Ninh and Long An provinces (before the merger) focused on leading, directing, and organizing the implementation of the patriotic emulation movements launched by the Prime Minister and the individual patriotic emulation movements of each locality, associated with the implementation of key political tasks and socio-economic development goals for the 2021-2025 period.

The emulation movements have closely followed the political tasks of each sector, locality, and unit and are practical and appropriate, contributing to bringing about positive results. Many movements have created a great spread, typically "The whole country joins hands to build new rural areas"; "The whole country joins hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in 2025"; "For the poor—leaving no one behind"; and "Cadres, civil servants, public employees, and workers compete to practice office culture." From the emulation movements, many typical examples have emerged in various fields.

Emulation are the driving force for development

With the role of connecting between enterprises and the government, and between entrepreneurs, in recent times, the Provincial Business Association has successfully implemented the emulation movement “Tay Ninh enterprises integrate and develop,” contributing to creating a transparent, dynamic, and creative investment and business environment. The Association is also an “extended arm” of the government, contributing to conveying the Party and State’s policies and guidelines to each enterprise and member, “transforming” the emulation spirit of “Tay Ninh enterprises integrate and develop” into concrete and practical actions.

Notably, the Association actively coordinated with the Provincial People's Committee and departments and branches to organize dialogue forums and conferences to meet with enterprises, promptly reflecting on difficulties and recommendations of enterprises on mechanisms and policies on tax, land, credit, and investment procedures. The Association also launched many emulation movements among member enterprises towards effective production and business, creativity in management, and pioneering in the application of new technology.

Many member enterprises have become typical models in the movement "Innovative-creative-sustainable development enterprises", contributing to improving labor productivity, reducing costs, and participating more deeply in the global supply chain. Typical examples include Hai Son Co., Ltd., Thai Tuan Textile Joint Stock Company, Duy Tan Recycled Plastic Joint Stock Company, Tan Dong Tien Joint Stock Company, Long Hau Joint Stock Company, Tan Nhien Co., Ltd., etc.

In response to the requirements of the digital economy, the Association oriented member enterprises to apply technology in production, management, and marketing; co-organize seminars and training courses on digital transformation, e-commerce, artificial intelligence (AI), green supply chain. Along with production and business, the Association also mobilizes businesses to join hands for the community, contributing more than 23 billion VND to social security activities.

Over the past 5 years, all levels and sectors have thoroughly grasped Directive No. 34, dated April 7, 2014 of the Politburo on continuing to innovate emulation and commendation work, promoting the movement of patriotic emulation, discovering, fostering, summarizing and multiplying advanced models; and Directive No. 41, dated December 26, 2024 of the Politburo on strengthening the Party's leadership in emulation and commendation work in the new situation.

At the same time, all levels and sectors have actively implemented the Law on Emulation and Commendation, organizing the patriotic emulation and commendation movements closely linked with Directive No. 05 of the Politburo on promoting “Studying and following Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, morality and lifestyle”. Therefore, in the past 5 years, all levels and sectors have had positive changes in awareness and organization of the patriotic emulation movement.

According to Deputy Director of the Department of Home Affairs Nguyen Hoang Minh, the patriotic emulation movement in the past 5 years has made an important contribution to promoting the socio-economic development process. The province’s economy has grown at a fairly high rate, exceeding the set target. The economic structure continues to shift in the right direction. Many targets of the Party Congress Resolution of the 2 provinces have been achieved and exceeded. Breakthrough programs and key projects have achieved a number of important results. Infrastructure is increasingly improved; the appearance of the countryside has many changes. State budget revenue is increasing, creating conditions for increased spending on development investment and social security. People's lives have been improved. Culture and society have made many advances; social security is guaranteed. National defense and security have been maintained; social order and safety have been enhanced. The political system has been consolidated, improved, streamlined and the quality of operations has been improved. Administrative reform has achieved many positive and comprehensive results in all 6 contents (institutional reform; administrative procedure reform; administrative apparatus reform; civil service reform; public finance reform; building and developing e-government and digital government).

Infrastructure in industrial parks and clusters has been strongly invested

The patriotic emulation movement has contributed to strengthening the great national unity bloc, enhancing autonomy and creativity among the people, and developing new models and factors in almost all fields. The apparatus and cadres working on emulation and rewards always uphold the spirit of responsibility, are close to reality, and are proactive and creative in advising on the implementation of assigned tasks.

Promoting the tradition of the homeland of bravery and resilience and the results achieved in the past 5 years, this time the Tay Ninh Patriotic Emulation Congress will encourage and motivate all levels, sectors, each cadre, party member and citizen to continue promoting the tradition of solidarity, efforts, and striving to overcome all difficulties and challenges, building Tay Ninh province with a dynamic and sustainable economic development. That is the most beautiful sentiment and the most practical action of each person when thinking about Uncle Ho and following the ideology and shining example of the great President Ho Chi Minh on patriotic emulation./.
