Long An: Survey on sending employees to work abroad

Deputy Head of the Committee of Culture and Social Affairs, Provincial People's Council - Tran Quoc Viet suggests that the Center focuses on analyzing and assessing market demand

From January 1, 2020 until now, Long An Employment Service Center coordinates with enterprises that have the function of sending workers to work abroad (the enterprises have been approved by the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs to appraise and permit the organization of labor selection in the province) organized 75 counseling and propaganda sessions with over 10,000 attendees.

Despite many efforts, the number of employees registered to work abroad through the Center is very small (in 2020: 7 employees; in 2021: 3 employees) because workers register directly with enterprises. 

According to the Center's report, the Covid-19 epidemic situation has affected the consulting, propaganda and mobilization of employees to register to work abroad.

It is still difficult to collect the list of employees supported with loans to work abroad for a limited time under contracts. Awareness of sectors and levels about sending workers to work abroad is incomplete, so this work have not really been paid enough attention.

In order to perform well the work of sending workers to work abroad under contracts in the near future, Deputy Head of the Committee of Culture and Social Affairs, Provincial People's Council - Tran Quoc Viet suggested that the Center stick to the socio-economic development plan. The province's society and human resource development strategy, in order to provide an appropriate direction for the labor market; build a connection between the Center and enterprises to diversify methods, methods of supply and mutual ordering.

On the other hand, it is necessary to promote the application of information technology in monitoring and updating employment data, job demand, and the number of people who have stable jobs.

The Center is interested in consulting the high school students because this is a huge human resource, associated with the good implementation of the job of streamlining students to vocational schools after graduating from secondary school.

It analyzes and assesses the labor market needs and potential needs of employees to have a more appropriate and long-term plan./.
