Focus on training high quality human resources
Realizing the key role of high-quality human resources and vocational skills in socio-economic development, in recent years, vocational education institutions in Long An province have implemented many synchronous solutions to improve training quality.
Strengthening management
The province currently has 12 vocational training institutions operating (4 colleges, 5 intermediate schools, 1 vocational training center and 2 other units participating in vocational training activities). Vocational training institutions in the province are implementing training for more than 100 college, intermediate, primary and regular occupations under 3 months and 119 occupations for rural workers in all 3 sectors (agriculture, forestry, fisheries; industry, construction; trade, services).
In addition to formal training at institutions, training according to enterprise requirements, technology transfer, specialized training classes, and mobile training at enterprises are widely organized to meet the needs of vocational training and career change of workers.
From 2021-2024, vocational training institutions enrolled and trained 94,681 workers (3,641 college, 13,543 intermediate, 31,547 primary, 45,950 regular). The rate of students having jobs after training reaches over 90%, especially in the fields of technology and engineering. As a result, the rate of trained workers is 76.56%, the rate of workers with degrees and certificates is 35%, contributing to improving the quality of human resources to serve the cause of industrialization, modernization and integration of the province.
In addition, close cooperation between vocational training institutions and enterprises is the key to solving the problem of internships, access to science and technology, and jobs for students after graduation. At the same time, training by address, vocational training associated with job creation, contributing to vocational education work increasingly closer to the needs of the labor market.
Recently, vocational training institutions have coordinated with 38 enterprises to train 332 workers in industries such as industrial electricity, mechatronics, automotive technology, etc. At the same time, 215 enterprises participated in vocational training according to the needs of the labor market, linking job creation with forms such as organizing practice for 1,230 teachers to access new technology, improve teaching skills; sent 220 managers and lecturers to participate in international training courses and created internship opportunities for 19,560 students, etc.
Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training - Huynh Phuong Vu said: "In the coming time, the Department will continue to advise the Provincial People's Committee to review, arrange, and plan the network of vocational training institutions according to the structure of occupations and training levels in accordance with the human resource development plan, the demand for highly skilled human resources of enterprises, and the labor market; deploy, implement and continue to advise the Provincial People's Committee to develop appropriate policies and mechanisms to train human resources to meet the needs of industrial and agricultural development of the province associated with the key, spearhead, and priority occupations".

As a university with US standards, Tan Tao University focuses most on the English training program. This is also the strength of students after graduation. With approximately 500 students, Tan Tao University focuses on creating opportunities for students to have early exposure to the real-world environment. Right from the first year, students majoring in the field study and visit hospitals, member companies and enterprises in Tan Tao and Tan Duc industrial parks. For the Faculty of Medicine, the school focuses on training in a bilingual English-Vietnamese program with the aim of preparing students to work in the United States.

Improving training quality
Long An University of Industry and Economics has just been recognized as meeting the educational quality standards of the second period (2025-2030 period). To ensure the quality of education, the training program is reviewed and updated periodically to meet the practical labor needs of enterprises. Every year, the faculties proactively review and adjust the training content to suit the increasingly high demands of the labor market.

For Long An University of Industry and Economics, the cooperation strategy with enterprises is the focus in training orientation, aiming to help students approach practice, improve their professional skills and increase their job opportunities after graduation. The school regularly invites lecturers who are experts from enterprises to participate in teaching and sharing practical experiences, helping students develop professional skills close to the needs of the labor market.
"Students can participate in internships early, helping them approach the real working environment and practice professional skills. This year, the school implemented an internship program right from the first year, cooperating with the Military Bank (MB Bank), creating opportunities for students to get acquainted with the professional working environment early. Thanks to the effective cooperation strategy, the rate of students having jobs after graduation is always high with about 90% of students finding jobs within 6 months after receiving their diploma" - Associate Professor, Dr. Le Dinh Tuan added.
It is known that the school also develops training programs in conjunction with international universities and trains according to international standards such as Southern College (Malaysia). These programs help students access global knowledge and skills, expanding opportunities to study and work in developed countries. The school also promotes training programs in conjunction with international enterprises in industrial parks in Long An, helping students have the opportunity to intern and work at multinational companies right in the locality.

Currently, Long An College has more than 8,000 students. In recent years, the school has built a training program that ensures scientific and modernity to meet the changes of the labor market. The program content is regularly reviewed and updated in accordance with scientific and technological advances, close to the actual situation at enterprises.
Principal of Long An College - Le Quoc Hung said: “The school is currently coordinating with more than 200 enterprises to organize practical internships for students, helping them access machinery, equipment, and technology at enterprises; applying the knowledge and skills they have learned to actual production, training their sense of organization, discipline, and industrial style, helping them improve their skills and get acquainted with the business environment. Thanks to that, each year, over 95% of students and graduates find jobs”. In addition, the school has also been transferred the Mechatronics vocational training program according to the standards of the Federal Republic of Germany by the German International Cooperation Organization (GIZ), and in the process of building and evaluating the training program, the school invited experts and representatives of enterprises to directly give their opinions. In addition, the school has also received support from GIZ of 1.7 million Euros (more than 47.1 billion VND) to purchase vocational training equipment according to the standards of the Federal Republic of Germany. GIZ also supports the school in digital transformation, quality assessment to meet the criteria of a high-quality college.
In addition, within the framework of cooperation between the Vietnamese Government and the Australian Government in the field of vocational education, the Australian Government is supporting Vietnam to implement the Project on Promoting the participation of Logistics enterprises in vocational education in Vietnam through the Aus4Skills Program, Long An College was selected to participate in the project for the period 2022-2025.
With close cooperation between vocational training institutions and enterprises, the quality of human resource training in the province is increasingly improved. This is a solid foundation to help local laborers integrate, develop sustainably and meet market requirements in the renovation period./.
