International cooperation in training high quality human resources
In the context of globalization, the demand for high-quality human resources in the labor market is increasing. To meet market demand, educational institutions in Long An province promote many international cooperation programs, helping learners access modern machinery, improving the competitiveness and contributing to the development of local socio-economic.
Effectiveness of the cooperation program
Last school year, Long An College cooperated with the German International Cooperation Organization (GIZ) to organize mechatronics vocational training according to German standards for 148 students. The cooperation program supported the college in digital transformation, building an open and flexible educational platform; training and fostering managers and lecturers, implementing green vocational education; etc.

Students will study Mechatronics vocational training for 2.5 years (for college level) and 2 years (for intermediate level) with equipment and training curriculum compiled by experts from the German International Cooperation Organization in cooperation with lecturers of Long An College. Thanks to that, they have the opportunity to access advanced and modern machinery according to German standards. Since signing the cooperation agreement in 2018, the college has received support from Germany of 1.7 million Euros to purchase equipment, train and develop lecturers and managers. The organization also periodically supports the inspection and conversion of training programs according to this national standard roadmap. After graduation, students are awarded a certificate of training in Mechatronics that meets international standards by GIZ, helping students to work in Germany if needed. In addition, Mechatronics is one of the "hot" professions with high demand for labor recruitment in enterprises in the province, especially foreign-invested enterprises.
In addition, the college continues to receive support from the Aus4skill Project of the Australian Government to train Logistics according to Australian standards, thereby improving professional training for lecturers, vocational training for students, meeting the recruitment requirements of enterprises in the province.

As a final year student of Mechatronics at Long An College, Nguyen An Nhan (born in 2004, residing in Binh Thanh commune, Thu Thua district) has been interning at Sung Hwa Vina Company Limited (Hoa Binh Industrial Park, Nhi Thanh commune, Thu Thua district) since early on. Nhan said: “The college has created conditions for me to gain practical experience at the enterprise. The work of repairing and maintaining machinery here is not only suitable for my major but also helps me effectively apply the knowledge I have learned. These are the knowledge and skills of using computers, installing electrical circuits, operating milling machines and lathes. Thanks to that, I can quickly adapt to the job. The dynamic working environment at the company also helps me practice many soft skills”.
According to Nhan, in addition to creating internship opportunities, the college also regularly organizes activities such as career counseling and job forums to help students better understand the labor market and find suitable jobs. Nhan excitedly talks about his plans after graduation: "I believe that with the knowledge and skills I have accumulated, I will confidently take on the position of electrical and mechanical designer at the company where I interned after graduation."
Focus on improving the quality of human resources
By September 2024, the province will have 76% of trained workers, of which 34.5% will have degrees and certificates. This is the result of the process of improving the quality of high-quality human resource training in the province, especially through international cooperation programs.
According to the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, in recent times, the province has had many activities to promote cooperation with foreign countries, territories and localities, especially investment cooperation with Japan, Korea, Taiwan (China) in the field of vocational education and employment. Thereby, the training of high-quality human resources is increasingly effective, suitable for the recruitment needs of enterprises in the province and sending workers to work abroad for a limited period. By October 3, 2024, the province sent 477 workers to work abroad, in countries such as Japan, Taiwan (China), Korea, Germany, Australia, etc.
