Long An: Coca-Cola Vietnam starts constructing factory worth 136 million USD

On the morning of October 14, Coca-Cola Vietnam Beverage Co., Ltd. started construction of a factory in Phu An Thanh Industrial Park, Ben Luc District, Long An Province. Former President - Truong Tan Sang, former Deputy Prime Minister - Truong Hoa Binh, Government leaders, representatives of ministries and central agencies etc. attended
the ceremony.

Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council - Nguyen Van Duoc (left cover), Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Nguyen Van Ut (right cover) gave investment certificate to Coca-Cola.

On the provincial leaders side, there were the Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Council - Nguyen Van Duoc; Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Nguyen Van Ut; former leaders of the province through the periods; representatives of leaders of departments, agencies, branches and organizations; leader of Ben Luc district.

On the investor side, there was Mr. Murat Ozgel - Chairman of Coca-Cola Bottling Investments Group; senior managers of Coca-Cola Vietnam Company and Group.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Nguyen Van Ut emphasized the groundbreaking ceremony as a special event. This is the projects with a very large investment capital of more than 136 million USD (3,109 billion VND) on an area of 19 hectares. Thereby, it can be affirmed that the investment environment in Long An is really attractive, fresh and meets the investment needs of large, famous and international investors like Coca-Cola.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Nguyen Van Ut emphasized the groundbreaking ceremony of Coca-Cola Vietnam factory project in Long An as a special event for the province.

Not only Coca-Cola, over the past time, especially in the new normal period, after the peak of the Covid-19 epidemic, Long An has also welcomed a series of projects with large capital such as Lotte, VinaCapital, Saigontel, Thai Tuan Hi-tech Comple, etc and followed by the groundbreaking ceremony of Coca-Cola factory. These are good signs for the economic picture of the province, and at the same time have demonstrated the rapid economic recovery and development of the province in the coming time.

On this occasion, on behalf of the leaders of Long An, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Nguyen Van Ut wished Coca-Cola Vietnam a smooth project implementation, ensuring progress and efficiency, contributing to the overall development of the province. He requested all levels and branches, the Provincial Economic Zone Management Board, and local leaders to create the best conditions for Coca-Cola Vietnam Beverage Co., Ltd. to operate effectively.

The Coca-Cola Vietnam factory is one of the projects that was granted an investment certificate by Long An province within a day and was granted a construction permit in just 3 days after receiving all valid documents.

Coca-Cola's new beverage factory is the 4th factory in Vietnam, designed and built with the aim of improving productivity, optimizing resources, applying smart and modern technology factory model.  With a total area of 19 hectares, the factory in Long An is expected to come into operation with a maximum capacity of 1 billion liters per year.

The project consists of 2 phases, phase one from 2022 to 2027, phase two from 2027 to 2039. By the end of phase one in 2027, the company is expected to complete 6 production lines over 30% of the total construction area. The new production line meets international and Vietnamese standards on food safety and hygiene, applying advanced automation technology to minimize the impact on the environment, creating more job opportunities and train skilled workforce for Long An.

At the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment - Tran Duy Dong expressed his joy when the construction of new Coca-Cola factory in Long An was started. He said that this is an important event, continuing to affirm Coca-Cola's confidence in the investment environment of Long An, contributing to the process of socio-economic recovery and development, creating a driving force for growth in the new situation. The commencement of the factory construction and the long-term investment commitment of Coca-Cola Company in Vietnam demonstrate the strong attraction of Vietnam in general and Long An province in particular in the context of large corporations’ trend to reposition production and diversify the global supply chain.
