When Tan An 4 Bridge (parallel to Tan An 1 Bridge) is completed, it is very important to reduce traffic congestion on NH1, the section through the Tan An city. The opening of the Tan An 4 Bridge will contribute to removing the bottlenecks of traffic across the Vam Co Tay River in Tan An city in particular and on NH1 from Ho Chi Minh City to the West of Vietnam in general.

Directors of Joint Stock Company 624 (the construction unit covers asphalt leading to the bridge) - Vo Quang Minh informed: “We speed up the construction progress and hand over the items on May 31. During the implementation process, inspection teams of the Long An Department of Transportation Inspectorate, Department IV of Transport Inspectorate, Traffic Police regularly reminded them to strictly abide by regulations on traffic safety during construction such as stretching wires, placing warning signs with notifying the construction area, dangerous sections must have flashing lights at night. In addition, when the number of vehicles increases at the rush-hour, there must be a coordinator to regulate traffic, and so on".

In particular, the media agency of Long An province also coordinated to provide information to road users to take the initiative in passing the road under construction.

Tan An bypass route has a length of more than 5 kilometers, previously the road surface is downgraded, full of "big potholes, small potholes", often stagnant water in the rainy season. After many months of construction, the road surface has been widened to 4 lanes, covered with hot asphalt concrete. Up to now, the items have been completed by the construction unit, basically opened traffic for the entire route.

Mr. Nguyen Van Chinh living in Than Cuu Nghia commune, Chau Thanh district, Tien Giang province (traveller on the road) said: “Previously, when I came from Tien Giang to Ho Chi Minh City, I used to be afraid when passing through the Tan An city bypass because the road surface is narrow, rough, the two sides have stagnant water, it is very dangerous when avoiding large cars. Now the road is expanded and upgraded, especially with a fairly high median strip and night lights, people feel very reassuring to travel”.

Deputy Director of Department of Transportation - Nguyen Hoai Trung said that the Department is very interested in the NH1 bypass and Tan An 4 bridge, these two works are important in clearing traffic congestion on the NH1 section through Tan An city. We always urge the construction unit to speed up the progress, ensure the quality of the project, soon open the traffic as planned. It is expected to officially cut the inauguration band and out in to use the Tan An Bridge 4 on June 7./.
