The incense offering ceremony to celebrate the 154th anniversary of national hero Nguyen Trung Truc's sacrifice solemnly took place on the afternoon of October 6 at Vam Nhut Tao historical site. Attending the ceremony were Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Pham Tan Hoa; delegation from Kien Giang; leaders of departments, branches, organizations and people in and out the province.

Nguyen Trung Truc was born in 1838 in Nghe village, Binh Nhut hamlet, Cuu Cu Ha canton, Cuu An district, now is Thanh Duc commune, Ben Luc district. Originally a courageous and patriotic fisherman who was good at martial arts, Nguyen Trung Truc soon became an excellent righteous troop leader, establishing many glorious victories.

The ceremony of Nguyen Trung Truc's sacrifice aims to educate people about the nation's historical traditions and promote patriotism in the young generation; at the same time, create favorable conditions for tourists from all over the country to visit the historical site of Vam Nhut Tao in particular and Tan Tru district, Long An province in general.
