Philippines evacuates hundreds of people as typhoon Man-yi nears

Hundreds of Filipinos were evacuated on November 15 to avoid Typhoon Man-yi, which is approaching the Philippines.

The evacuation was carried out as rescue workers were still struggling to reach stranded people and those affected by Typhoon Usagi earlier.

The Philippine meteorological agency forecasts that Man-yi will make landfall in eastern coastal towns and the capital Manila this weekend. The storm is currently strengthening in the western Pacific and will possibly become a super typhoon on the early morning of November 17. This is the sixth typhoon to the Philippines in just a month.

Meanwhile, Usagi, known as Ofel in the Philippines, has begun to weaken significantly after making landfall in the north of the country on November 15.

Earlier, it had strengthened into a super typhoon, causing heavy rains and strong winds and damaging many houses. There have been no reports of casualties related to this storm, but thousands of people have been evacuated./.
