Tan Lap floating village located in the heart of Dong Thap Muoi sub-region (also known as the Plain of Reeds) which covers more than 135 hectares of core area and 500 hectares of buffer area.
The floating village has been known as wetlands with its habitat of indigo forests, lotus, lily, water hyacinth, typical rice of the area; and as the home of many wildlife as birds, stork, fish...
Tan Lap floating village has a special location for tourism exploitation and development being just about 60 kilometers of the northwestward of central Tan An city and about 100 kilometers of the westward of Ho Chi Minh City.
In the past, the Tan Lap floating village was managed by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; after that it was transferred to the Thap Muoi Tourism Company under Tran Thai Group in 2016 for investment and exploitation following the socialization form.
At present, investors are carrying out construction works, renovating some works including 5 kilometer-long road through the indigo forest, cable car system for visitors, and 32 hotel- rooms on based of renovation of observation tower (including nine floors with 38 meters high).
Besides, they have also expanded many functional areas as environmental educational center, natural conservation area, wild bird sanctuary, floating houses on piles, park-restaurant area, marina area...

The leader of Thap Muoi Tourism Company said that although the Tan Lap floating village does not officially put into operation, it receives around 200 visitors per day, and around 1,000 arrivals per day on weekends.
Secretary Pham Van Ranh said that with the interference location between the Southeast and the Mekong Delta region, bordering with Ho Chi Minh City, located on the national tourism route of Ho Chi Minh City – the Mekong Delta and trans-Asia travel route connecting with Cambodia through the provincial border, Long An has an important strategic position in trade and tourism; in particular, the province has identified Tan Lap floating tourist village as one of the key tourism projects of the province and the region.
During the survey, Secretary of the Party Committee of Long An Province Pham Van Ranh appreciated the efforts and determination of investors in concentrating resources, speeding up the construction adding that the leaders of the province and related departments and agencies will create the most favorable conditions for the Tan Lap floating tourist village to early be completed and officially put into operation before the Lunar New Year of 2018.

At the same time, Secretary of the Party Committee of Long An Province Pham Van Ranh asked the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to continue coordinating with the Tran Thai Group, Thap Muoi Tourism Company and other potential investors to research and form tours connecting from Ho Chi Minh City to the key tourism projects in the province:
Ecotourism sites of Rach Cat-Can Duoc, Tan Lap floating village, Center of Conservation and Development of Medicine of Dong Thap Muoi, Lang Sen Wetland Reserve, key historical-cultural relic sites of the province which would contribute to the formation of typical tourism products of Long An, meeting rising demand for short-term excursions, typical ecotourism in Dong Thap Muoi …of this potential market from Ho Chi Minh City and the neighboring provinces./.
