VN & Russia promote science and technology cooperation

Vietnamese President Tran Dai Quang speaks at the ceremony

Vietnamese President Tran Dai Quang attended in the awarding ceremony and rewarded the medal to the center.

Speaking at the ceremony, President Tran Dai Quang praised efforts and outstanding achievements of Vietnam- Russia Tropical Center during past 30 years.

Over 30 years ago, the center became an interdisciplinary institution of scientific and technological research and analysis about the tropics, and it increasingly affirmed its position and important role in Vietnam and the Russian Federation that contributed to deepen the traditional friendship and strategical cooperation ties between the two nations.

President Tran Dai Quang expected the center to continue implementing properly foreign affairs policies, guidelines and resolutions of Party, State and the Ministry of Defense on science and technology development; continue expanding cooperation as well as increasing efficiency of scientific and technological activities, serve the military and defense tasks and the socio-economic development of the two countries…

Earlier, the 28th meeting of the Joint Committee of the Vietnam-Russia Tropical Center under the chairmanship of Vietnamese Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh and Mr. Pavlov Dmitri Sergeevich, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences cum Chairman of the Russian Division was held at the office of Defense Ministry.
