Applying high technology, improving OCOP products
OCOP (one commune, one product) products include 5 grades from 1 star to 5 stars depending on the product's score when evaluated according to the set of criteria. In order to increase the OCOP product grade, the manufacturing unit must invest and improve technology in production, distribution, etc. to improve the quality and level of the product.
The first product to have a 5-star OCOP profile
The set of Criteria for OCOP product recognition consists of 3 parts, including criteria for product assessment and community strength; marketability and product quality. In particular, the higher the production technology, the larger the production scale, the higher the rating score.
In particular, products with appropriate packaging, complete label information, traceability, certification of trademark or industrial design protection will be evaluated with the highest score. Expanded products that are marketed on the Internet and participate in trade promotion fairs are rated higher.
The ranking of OCOP products is based on the results of product evaluation according to a set of criteria. The maximum total score for each product is 100 points; the products are classified into 5 grades from 1 to 5 stars. In order to increase the value of OCOP products, manufacturers must improve technology, improve product quality and production capacity to achieve higher scores. Currently, Long An has 2 products that are in the process of completing the 5-star OCOP product accreditation dossier, including Moc S floor cleaning oil and Melaroma room spray.

The company's products are sold not only at retailers but also on e-commerce channels such as Shopee, Tiki, and Lazada. The products have received high praise from customers.
Efforts to improve the product
In order for products to meet OCOP 5 standards, businesses must always make efforts. Currently, the province has 31 OCOP products with 3 stars or more, including 19 4-star products that can be upgraded to 5 stars. 5-star OCOP products are national and exportable products, while 3-star and 4-star products are provincial products. The effort to promote OCOP products is also to raise the product level in the market.
According to the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Director of Muoi Hai Safe Vegetable Cooperative - Le Van Giay, products meeting OCOP standards help the cooperative's brand to be more popular. It is a long-term and sustainable benefit. Currently, the cooperative is still trying to upgrade the production process and expand output to bring many benefits to the community.
Organic farming requires higher investment costs but this is an inevitable direction for the Muoi Hai Safe Vegetable Cooperative to improve product quality
The Muoi Hai Safe Vegetable Cooperative provides about 40 green vegetable products to the market and has a mustard green product that achieves 4-star OCOP in 2021. From the beginning, the cooperative has oriented to produce safe vegetables to make a difference, helping farmers to have output at a higher price.
