Tan Lap Floating Village develops tourism based on the natural advantages of the region
Exploiting potential, developing tourism
Ecotourism is a typical highlight and potential of Long An with green cajuput forests and brilliant lotus and water lily fields of Dong Thap Muoi region. Coming to Long An during the flood season, visitors can both visit ecotourism and explore unique cultural values in the daily life of the people, experience the wetland ecosystem, in which, Tan Lap Floating Village Tourist Area, Endless Field Tourist Area, etc are destinations that cannot be missed.
Built on the foundation of existing natural landscapes, the tourist areas bring visitors a cool, green and peaceful space. With a well-invested construction, Tan Lap Floating Village offers many options with a variety of services: walking on the path through the cajuput forest, rowing boat, catching fish, playing folk games on water and on land, and camping. Being a famous destination on social networks, known by many young people, Tan Lap Floating Village promotes the strengths of the locality in developing tourism. At the tourist area, there are countryside market stalls, selling typical cuisine of Dong Thap Muoi region, serving Don Ca Tai Tu for tourist groups, etc.

Deputy Head of Tan Lap Floating Village Business Department - Phan Thi Lua said: “Countryside markets and buffets are often held on holidays and Tet. As for the traditional music performance, we regularly serve according to the requests of tourist groups. In particular, in the daily meals here, we always prioritize seasonal specialties of Dong Thap Muoi region so that visitors can have interesting experiences about this land”.
According to the assessment of the Provincial Tourism Promotion Information Center, in addition to its strengths in eco-tourism, Long An also has a location and natural conditions suitable for developing many types of agricultural products. Thanks to that, tourism development based on high-tech agriculture is becoming an attractive investment channel. Leading and standing out in the journey of developing tourism from agriculture is Chavi Garden Tourism Area. Starting from a 150 hectares of seedless lime garden that was nurtured from low-lying, alum land, Chavi Garden is now an eco-tourism experience that is loved by visitors from near and far.
Here, visitors not only immerse themselves in a peaceful space with colorful flowers, the sound of streams and birds chirping, but also experience many tourism services: Folk games, agricultural experiences, relaxing stream bathing, etc. Not only that, Chavi Garden is also ready to cooperate with local farmers so that visitors can visit fruit gardens and directly harvest agricultural products during their journey.

Based on the existing strengths of the locality, many tourist destinations in Long An provide visitors with unique services, both developing and contributing to preserving and promoting the strengths of the homeland.
Preserving traditional values
Rural tourism in Long An is not only developed based on natural advantages but is also oriented to develop on the basis of preserving and promoting the value of historical and cultural relics in the area. The province currently has 126 historical and cultural relics and many festivals of different scales and characteristics. Of which, there are 3 large-scale festivals classified by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism as National Intangible Cultural Heritage and a number of festivals associated with the historical and cultural relics of the province, attracting a large number of people inside and outside the province to participate.
“In recent times, many relic sites have been restored and embellished, becoming highlights on the province's tourism map, becoming meaningful destinations for tourists. Long An currently has a number of tours being exploited associated with the historical and cultural relics in the area” - Deputy Director of the Provincial Tourism Promotion Information Center - Le Thi Hong Thuy said. The most attractive relics in the province include: Lawyer Nguyen Huu Tho Memorial Site, Vam Nhut Tao Historical-Cultural Relic Site, Provincial Revolutionary Historical-Cultural Relic Site, Ton Thanh Pagoda, etc. In addition, Lam Chay Festival, the Anniversary of the Sacrifice of National Hero Nguyen Trung Truc, the Ngu Hanh Lady Festival, etc also attract a large number of tourists from provinces and cities to participate.
In the first 9 months of 2024, nearly 30,000 visitors came to the Provincial Museum - Library and cultural relics and works directly managed by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism. According to statistics from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the whole province has more than 67,000 students, union members, and youth coming to study extracurricular activities, visit, and experience at historical-cultural relics and relics.
This is considered a good sign for promoting tourism development associated with traditional education, preserving local cultural and historical values, although this journey is still full of difficulties.
Long An is not yet a prominent destination on the national tourism map, however, with the enthusiasm, the province is doing a good job of taking advantage of cultural values, traditions and natural conditions to attract tourists. With the joint efforts, it is hoped that Long An tourism industry will increasingly flourish./.
