The workshop "Solutions for developing the Apricot Craft Village in Tan Tay Commune in association with tourism development in Long An Province until 2030"
The Apricot Growing Village was established in 2004 by Mr. Tran Van Thong, who brought apricot varieties from Ben Tre to grow in Hamlet 4, Tan Tay Commune and gained high economic efficiency. In 2020, the Apricot Village in Tan Tay Commune was recognized by the Provincial People's Committee as a craft village. By 2023, the Provincial People's Committee approved the Project to develop the Apricot Craft Village in Tan Tay Commune in association with Long An tourism development until 2030.
According to the People's Committee of Tan Tay Commune, the Apricot Craft Village in Tan Tay Commune currently has 430 hectares of yellow apricot with more than 526 households growing apricot. In addition, the People's Committee of the Commune has also established a yellow apricot cooperative with 31 members; built 2 tourism service business models such as dining, sightseeing, rowing, fishing, karaoke, etc.

At the workshop, delegates listened to the representative of the Saemaul Undong Rural Development Center (University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Ho Chi Minh City) presenting the proposal to design and build a model rural community tourism product for the Apricot Craft Village in Tan Tay Commune; listened to the people of Tan Tay Mai Village and Thanh Hoa District People's Committee presenting the advantages, difficulties and recommendations in building rural tourism in Tan Tay Apricot Village in particular and implementing the Project on developing Tan Tay Apricot Village in association with tourism development in Long An province until 2030 in general.
In addition, the delegates also listened to representatives of the Provincial Tourism Association share experiences in developing Chavi Garden Eco-tourism Area and solutions for developing Tan Tay Apricot Village tourism to participate in connecting to the tourism chain associated with Chavi Garden and other tourist destinations of the Association. At the same time, Mekong Delta Adventure and Events Travel Company Limited informed about the conditions for Tan Tay Apricot Village to participate in Dong Thap Muoi tours.
