With infinite regret, on behalf of the Party Committee, authorities and people of Long An province, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council - Pham Van Ranh and members of the delegation respectfully leaned in front of the coffin of comrade Le. Kha Phieu - Former General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

Comrade Le Kha Phieu, born on December 27, 1931, in Dong Khe commune, Dong Son district, Thanh Hoa province; he joined revolutionary activities in 1947, became a Party’s member on June 19, 1949. Over 70 years of revolutionary activities, he made great contributions to the glorious revolutionary cause of the Party and nation.

After a period of illness, although the Party, the State, a staff of professors and doctors dedicated to the treatment, the family wholeheartedly cared for him, but due to his old age and serious illness, he passed away at 2:52 a.m on August 7, 2020 (lunar June 18, Year of Rat) at home, at the age of 89.

In the funeral book, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Long An province - Pham Van Ranh wrote that Comrade Le Kha Phieu was an excellent and prestigious leader of the Party, the State and our people, he was a Communist Party’s member who was very persistent, throughout their life fighting and sacrificing himself for the ideal of national independence, for the happiness of the people. He has made great contributions to the cause of national liberation, national reunification and national renewal.

When he retired, he always cared deeply, took the time to visit the provincial revolutionary historic site in Duc Hue district despite his old age and weakness (2017), attended the 70th Anniversary Victory of Moc Hoa (2018), and he also gave emotional, responsible and enthusiastic suggestions and instructions to the Party committee and Long An government on the development direction of the locality.

The Party Committee, government and people of Long An province forever remember and thank for his great contribution to the country. We respectfully paid a respect to former General Secretary Le Kha Phieu and respectfully sent to his family our deepest condolences. We wish him a forever sleep in eternity./.
