According to the report of the Department of Planning and Investment, the industrial production index in Q I/2021 increased by 4.56 percent over the same period last year (it increased by 3.63 percent in the same period last year). From the beginning of the year up to now, there are 380 newly established enterprises with a total registered capital of 7,266 billion VND, up 11.4 percent in number of businesses and 113 percent in registered capital over the same period; There were 133 businesses suspending their business, down 5 percent over the same period.

Up to now, there are 15,154 enterprises registered in the province with a total registered capital of 381,578 billion VND. The province has issued the investment certificates for 46 domestic projects with registered capital of 1,772.2 billion VND; total newly and additionally registered capital is 1,702.2 billion VND; increased 12 projects and registered capital increased 365.2 billion VND over the same period.

Up to now, there are 2,058 domestic investment projects licensed by the province with the registered capital of 245,272.6 billion VND. The province has issued the investment certificates for 11 FDI projects, the total registered capital is 3,152.6 million USD, 6 projects with an increase of 8.9 million USD, the total newly and additionally capital of 3,161.5 million USD; increased investment capital 3,046.9 million USD over the same period.

Up to now, the total number of projects registered in the province is 1,111 projects with registered capital of 9,177.23 million USD; of which 588 projects were put into operation, accounting for 52.9 percent of the total number of registered projects, with a total implemented capital of about 3,624 million USD, reaching 39.4 percent of the total registered capital. The additional industrial land area to be filled up is 57.2 hectares. The whole province currently has 16 industrial zones in operation with an area of 2,382.3 hectares, occupancy rate is about 89.2 percent. There are 22 industrial clusters operating to attract 627 projects, the leased land area is 761.48 hectares. The occupancy rate of active industrial clusters is 77.67 percent.

The trade and service situation increased over the same period, this is a signal of recovery from the effects of the Covid-19 epidemic. The total state budget revenue in the province by the end of the first quarter of 2021 was over 6 trillion VND, accounting for 39.8 percent of the central estimate, reaching 38.74 percent of the estimate assigned by the Provincial People's Council, up 30.66 percent over the same period.

The total local budget expenditure by the end of the Q I/2021 was over 3 trillion VND, reaching 24.01 percent of the estimate assigned by the Provincial People's Council, as much as 86.31 percent over the same period. Other socio-cultural, education and health fields continued to develop, and security and defense were maintained.

For the key task in the Q II/2021, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee asked all levels and sectors to continue to focus on the prevention of Covid-19, not to neglect, to be subjective, to strictly control export and entry through Long An, especially in border areas.
