Promoting the value of OCOP products
In recent times, the OCOP Program has been promoted, and is considered an important task, contributing to exploiting the local potential, enhancing the value of agricultural products, and developing the rural economy.
To date, the whole province has 232 products meeting OCOP standards (including 47 4-star products and 185 3-star products) in the following groups: Food, beverages, herbs, handicrafts, and ornamental plants.
The province regularly organizes and participates in displaying, introducing, and promoting OCOP products at events, exhibitions, and signing conferences; provides information, facilitates, and supports entities to participate in many other fairs inside and outside the province.
In particular, along with creating conditions for certified products, the authorities and functional sectors in the province have many trade promotion and advertising programs to help OCOP products be consumed well through the application of information technology, introduced on e-commerce sites. Currently, the province has built 6 spots to display, introduce and sell OCOP products.
In order to promote trade activities and OCOP products, at the end of November, Tan Thanh District Youth Union officially opened a store specializing in selling OCOP products and typical products of the District Youth Startup Club. Here, consumers can find products made from lotus, clean rice, cordyceps, lingzhi mushrooms and specialties of Tan Thanh land.

The store is not only a place to display and sell but also introduces typical agricultural products, ensuring quality, food safety and being closely monitored from production to consumption. At the same time, it plays an important role in connecting and supporting farmers to consume products through the store system of mass organizations, encouraging people to support the campaign "Vietnamese people prioritize Vietnamese goods".
Secretary of Tan Thanh District Youth Union - Bui Thi Thuy An said that the store is a "bridge" to bring local typical products closer to consumers inside and outside the district. Thanks to that, businesses, cooperatives and producers will have more motivation to invest in improving quality, expanding production scale to meet the increasingly diverse needs of the market. This not only creates conditions for local economic development but also affirms the value of OCOP products, helping products reach new markets, thereby promoting sustainable development for the agricultural sector.
According to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, many products after being recognized as meeting OCOP standards have had increasingly expanding consumer markets, especially increasing sales, contributing to increasing profits for the entities. The OCOP program has been established and timely consolidated from the provincial to the district level. Through participation in the OCOP program, many evaluated and classified products have improved in product quality, packaging design, and labels. Many products have signed consumption contracts with supermarkets and large distributors. The program has been implemented to encourage enterprises, cooperatives, and entities to invest in agriculture, shifting the rural labor structure, solving employment, increasing product value, and increasing income for rural people.
Building product brands
After implementing the OCOP Program, the province now has many prestigious and branded products that are chosen by many customers. Mr. Luu Minh Phung - owner of Phung Lanh Honey Farm (Vinh Loi Commune, Tan Hung District), said: "My family raises bees for honey, but in the past, we produced in small-scale, did not invest in designs, traceability stamps, etc, mainly sold retail, so the family's honey brand was not known by many people. Since registering to participate in the safe food supply chain and being recognized as an OCOP product, our product has full labels, consumers can easily trace its origin, so consumption is also convenient and the Phung Lanh honey brand has been created". In addition, with the support of provincial and local departments and branches, he has had the opportunity to participate in many fairs and exhibitions to promote the product to more customers, helping his family have more honey distribution points.

Currently, the family raises 250 bee colonies to produce honey. Phung Lanh honey is supplied to the market in and outside the province in 500ml and 1,000ml glass bottles. Mr. Phung said that with a selling price of 150,000 VND/0.5 liter; 250,000 VND/liter, the average profit is about 25 million VND/month, helping our family economy develop.
In 2003, starting from a small family business, Mr. Le Ca Bin's Kim Ngoc Spring Rolls brand (Nhon Thanh Trung commune, Tan An city) has gone through a 21-year development journey to become a prestigious company with 8 products meeting OCOP standards. Thanks to continuous research, quality improvement and product diversification, this brand has not only affirmed its position in the market but also become a famous specialty of Tan An city.
Director of Kim Ngoc Food Spring Roll One Member Co. Ltd. - Le Ca Bin said that the company invested in a closed production line, strictly controlling from the stage of selecting input materials, processing to packaging and transportation. Currently, the company owns 8 3-star OCOP products, including: Pork spring rolls, pork rolls, shrimp spring rolls, shrimp rolls, vegetarian spring rolls, vegetarian rolls, seafood spring rolls with cheese and fresh sausage. The products are now available in many supermarkets and convenience stores, reaching more customers, bringing maximum convenience to consumers.

Mr. Le Ca Bin emphasized: “Being recognized as an OCOP product not only affirms the quality but also opens up opportunities for the company to participate in trade promotion fairs and promote products.
Through these events, we have the opportunity to reach many customers, receive valuable contributions on product flavor and design. From there, the company can adjust and improve to better meet consumer needs”.
The trade promotion efforts of Kim Ngoc Food Spring Rolls not only help the brand reach further but also contribute to promoting Long An specialties to many domestic and foreign markets. This is a clear demonstration of the potential of OCOP products when invested properly and associated with a sustainable development strategy.
To support entities in expanding markets for OCOP products, relevant departments and sectors coordinate to introduce and promote trade, thereby arousing potential, advantages as well as enhancing the value of agricultural products and OCOP products, contributing to the development of the province's OCOP Program in depth, efficiency, and sustainability./.
