Through those fairs, we receive positive contributions from consumers about product taste, design, etc, therby making changes and adjustments to suit consumer requirements."

In Can Giuoc district, with the advantage of being located near the seaport and accumulating a lot of ancient alluvium, since the local policy of restructuring crops and livestock, many farmers have boldly invested in growing vegetables, especially leafy vegetables.

According to Director of Phuoc Thinh Agriculture Production Trade and Service Cooperative (Phuoc Hau commune, Can Giuoc district) - Dang Duy Dung, to maximize the economic potential from vegetables, he established the cooperative and called on local vegetable growing households to participate.

Since its establishment, the cooperative has developed in a safe direction, strictly complying with environmental hygiene conditions, ensuring the creation of high quality vegetable products to serve the market.

When established in 2012, the cooperative had only 8 members with a farming area of less than 3 hectares. Thanks to going in the right direction, up to now, the cooperative has grown with 30 official members and dozens of affiliated members producing on an area of 40 hectares. In particular, 100% of members produce according to VietGAP standards and 100% of products are purchased by the cooperative at prices higher than market prices.

“Leaf vegetables, especially herbs grown in Can Giuoc district, have a very unique flavor. Thanks to the support of the provincial and district agriculture sectors, currently, the cooperative's herbs (fish mint, perilla, basil) are recognized as 3-star OCOP products. Since being recognized as meeting OCOP standards, Phuoc Thinh Cooperative's herb products have increasingly affirmed their brand, increasing their competitiveness in the market" - Mr. Dang Duy Dung said excitedly.

Continue to advertise and promote trade

According to the Provincial Department of Rural and Irrigation Development, the whole province has 147 products meeting OCOP standards, of which 40 products are 4-star and 107 products are 3-star, focusing on 4 groups: food, beverages, herbs and handicrafts.

Over the past time, in order for OCOP products to develop effectively and sustainably, departments and branches have strengthened trade promotion work, expanding consumption markets for OCOP products in the country and abroad, especially promotion OCOP products through conferences, fairs, festivals, tourist attractions, etc to connect supply and demand. At the same time, they organize training classes for product owners to promote e-commerce development for OCOP products through online sales channels such as Shopee, TikTok, Lazada, Sendo, etc.

In addition, departments, branches and localities also actively support units and individuals to display, introduce and sell OCOP products. To date, the whole province has 6 OCOP product display areas located at Dong Thap Station (Thuy Tay commune, Thanh Hoa district); Chavi Garden experiential eco-tourism area (Thanh Loi commune, Ben Luc district); My Quynh Zoo (Tan My commune, Duc Hoa district); Ward 1, Ward 2 (Tan An City) and Can Duoc town, Can Duoc district.

According to the Provincial Center for Industrial and Trade Promotion, in the past year, the province has organized and participated in displaying, introducing, and promoting OCOP products at nearly 50 events, exhibitions, and signing conferences; creating conditions, and supporting in many other fairs inside and outside the province.

Deputy Director of Department of Industry and Trade - Chau Thi Le informed: In the coming time, the Department will continue to coordinate with related industries to support production entities with OCOP-recognized products to maintain and improve product quality. The Department will also create conditions for OCOP entities to participate in fairs and trading floors to advertise, promote trade, and find outlets for their products./.
