Chairman of Vietnam Farmers Association of Long An province - Pham Chi Tam had a working trip to learn experiences in Tay Ninh province on Project 61

Vice Chairman of Vietnam Farmers Association of Tay Ninh province - Pham Van Hoang, representative of Standing Agency for the implementation of Conclusion 61-KL/TW in Tay Ninh province informed some highlights of the province after 10 years of implementing the project on "Enhancing the role and responsibility of Vietnam Farmers Association in developing agriculture, building new rural areas and building Vietnamese peasantry in the period 2010 - 2020 ”(Project 61).

Since 2011 up to now, the Vietnam Farmers Association of Tay Ninh province has directly organized 22 vocational training classes for rural workers, gave a lot of vocational training books for farmers. Thereby, there are many effective production models such as biological cushions, green asparagus planting, reflux hydroponic vegetables, household composting, etc. Many agricultural products are favored by domestic and foreign people such as Ba Den custard apple, Trang Bang rice paper, Tay Ninh chilli salt, Ba Dong Tien (three coins) tapioca starch, etc.

Responding to the national target program on new-style rural area building, over the past 10 years, officials and members in the province actively participated in clearing bushes, clearing sewers, donating 19,845 square meter of land to build rural roads; upgrading, repairing and hardening 68,719 kilometers of rural roads with a total amount of over 68.5 billion VND, etc.

Chairman of Vietnam Farmers Association of Tay Ninh province – Tran Van Han said: “Achieving outstanding achievements after 10 years of implementation of Project 61 is due to the focused and directed leadership of the Steering Committee; the strengthening of inspection, supervision and urging the implementation in localities; the timely review, learning from experiences and replicating the typical examples. At the same time, the Steering Committee has improved the operational quality of the Vietnam Farmers Association at all levels; focused on training cadres to meet the task requirements."

According to Chairman of Vietnam Farmers Association of Long An province - Pham Chi Tam, this trip helped the Steering Committee of Long An province learn about leadership and well implement Project 61; the method of organizing service, consultancy, vocational training and farmer support activities in order to create conditions for Vietnam Farmers Association at all levels to participate in the program of agriculture, farmer and rural areas development; to visit practically some effective production models, especially to apply high technology in production and establishing of agricultural value chains./.
