Over the past years, Tan An City has focused on attracting investment resources for urban development, building technical infrastructure, embellishing, upgrading urban areas more and more spacious, constantly improving the people’s living standards. Information from the People's Committee of Tan An City, in the period 2016-2020, the locality has mobilized more than 5,800 billion VND, reaching over 112 percent of the plan. In which, the state budget capital accounts for 67.1 percent and mobilized capital among people and enterprises is 32.94 percent. In 2019, the city is recognized as a grade-II city marking a great milestone in constructing and developing the city.

Chairman of the People's Committee of Tan An City - Nguyen Quang Thai informed that, currently, compared to the grade I urban criteria specified in Resolution No. 1210/2016/UBTVQH13, dated May 25, 2016 of the Standing Committee of National Assembly, Tan An City reached 71.56 points out of 100 points; 12 out of 59 criteria do not achieve maximum points, not enough standard marks, while resource mobilization is limited. The city has not brought into play all resources well, especially the resources of the people to build infrastructure, develop socio-economic, etc. It has attracted investment from all economic sectors to industries still slow. Investment resources for urban development have not met the requirements.

In order to achieve this program, the city calls for, attracts and creates investment capital for socio-economic development in the direction of promoting trade - services, improving the quality of industry - construction and agriculture. It continues to mobilize and efficiently use all resources from all economic sectors together with the State budget for infrastructure investment, rapid and sustainable economic development; improve the people’s material and spiritual life the in the locality; determines to build Tan An city worthy of being the political, administrative, economic, cultural, scientific and technical center of the province.

Thanks to mobilizing resources, the city has completed the key project of Ring canal embankment

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tung - resident of Ward 7, shared: “I am very happy and excited when the city is recognized as a grade-II city. In the past years, the embankment of Ring Canal passing through ward 7 was very tiny, passersby often threw garbage indiscriminately, causing loss of urban beauty. Nowadays, this place is invested by the city to make a solid embankment. This is also a key project in the term 2015-2020. On the journey of building grade I urban areas, I hope that leaders are interested in urban management, especially in maintaining order, environmental sanitation, urban waste as well as reorganizing the situation of buying and selling on the street sides or pavements”.

Promoting propaganda

The city focuses on mobilizing all resources to invest in building and developing the city; striving to basically meet the criteria of grade-I urban areas by 2025 towards a friendly, civilized and modern city according to the Resolution of the XIth Congress of the Party Committee, term 2020-2025.

Secretary of the Tan An City Party Committee - Le Cong Dinh said that in order to achieve the above goal, it is necessary to first strengthen communication, propaganda, and create a high consensus among cadres, party members and people. Accordingly, the city enhances the role of the Party Committees, authorities, Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations in providing information and propaganda to cadres, party members, union members, members and people, raising the mind community responsibility awareness among the people to agree to implement this program.

At the same time, the city cares and well implements mechanisms and policies in the area; reviews, develops and reports to the province to agree on guidelines for specific mechanisms in the process of city construction and development, especially the financial mechanism, the management of urban space development, the construction of building a set of criteria for a friendly, civilized and modern city; focuses on leading and directing the implementation of Plan No. 123-KH/TU, dated May 15, 2020 of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee on implementing and performing the Resolution No. 70-NQ/TU, dated February 12, 2020 of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee on building e-government and developing smart urban services in the province in the period 2020-2025.

The city calls for non-budget capital sources to invest in developing urban areas and commercial centers; gives priority to projects that use high technology, has high added value, uses a lot of labor, occupies a small area, and are friendly with the environment; uses resources economically and efficiently; minimizes projects with outdated technology and equipment, large land.

In addition, the city thoroughly grasped and focused on implementing more programs on site clearance, resettlement, and stabilization of the lives of people in the affected area to build works serving the people and development projects. Socio-economic; promote the implementation of 3 key projects in the new term: Build embankment of Bao Dinh river from Bao Dinh sewer to ring canal; to complete Park Ward 2, phase 2; drainage system against flooding in the inner city area./.
