Long An Provincial People's Council passes 8 Resolutions

The 8 Resolutions passed at the Session are of great significance to the practical development requirements of the locality and the expectations of voters, contributing to unlocking resources and promoting the province's rapid and sustainable socio-economic development.

On March 25, the Provincial People's Council, term 2021-2026, held the 23rd Session - the 2025 Special Session. Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman in charge of the Provincial People's Council - Mai Van Nhieu and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council - Dang Thi Ngoc Mai chaired the session.

Delegates vote to approve the session agenda

At the session, with high consensus, the delegates voted to approve 8 important Resolutions on economy and society such as the list of projects to change the purpose of using rice-growing land, reclaiming land to implement projects; amend and supplement the principles, criteria and norms for allocating regular state budget expenditure estimates to budget levels; adjust and supplement the allocation of the medium-term public investment capital plan for 2021-2025 period and the public investment capital plan for 2025; regulations on the authority to decide on investment and procurement of information technology application using regular expenditure funds from the state budget; abolish Resolution No. 01/2025/NQ-HDND dated February 20, 2025 of the Provincial People's Council on the province's additional support policy when implementing the organizational arrangement of the political system; the project implementation and commitment policy to ensure the balance of local budget capital for the Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 4 project, the province's driving force for the next term.

In particular, the Resolution on the results of monitoring non-budget capital projects using land that are slow to be implemented in 2024 in the province is assessed to create new and more positive effects in attracting investment, creating fairness, equality, and more benefits for the business community, improving the investment environment, preventing land waste, state budget losses, creating new development momentum, contributing to achieving the target of GRDP growth in 2025 of 10% or more.

Speaking at the Session, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman in charge of the Provincial People's Council - Mai Van Nhieu affirmed that the Resolutions passed at the Session are of important significance, linked to the practical development requirements of the locality and the expectations of voters, contributing to unlocking resources, promoting the province's socio-economic development quickly and sustainably. At the same time, it shows the timeliness in the province's policy response to newly arising regulations of the Central Government.

In order to realize the resolutions, right after this meeting, Vice Chairman in charge of the Provincial People's Council - Mai Van Nhieu also requested the Provincial People's Committee to focus on implementing the specific resolutions of the Provincial People's Council according to its authority, ensuring legal procedures, with the spirit of bringing the resolutions into life as quickly and effectively as possible, demonstrating dynamism, innovation and efficiency in management and operation from the province to the grassroots level. The Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council, the Committees of the Provincial People's Council and each delegate of the Provincial People's Council shall strengthen supervision activities and closely coordinate with the Provincial People's Committee and relevant agencies in concretizing, propagating and mobilizing the effective implementation of the resolutions, creating consensus and support from voters and people, contributing to bringing the resolutions into reality and promoting practical effectiveness./.
