17th session of IXth Long An provincial People's Council approves 24 Resolutions

At this session, the provincial People's Council analyzed and discussed comprehensively the results of the socio-economic development plan in 2019; recognized and highly appreciated the provincial People's Committee, sectors, levels, people and the business community to strive to overcome difficulties to achieve many important results; frankly pointed out the limitations on some branches and sectors; proposed key solutions for the socio-economic development tasks in 2020.

In the spirit of democracy, frankness and responsibility, People's Council delegates directly questioned the Chairman of the provincial People's Committee and concerned departments and branches on 3 important groups of issues including environmental protection; people's health care; economic growth, investment attraction, water supply for people.

The 17th session of IXth provincial People's Council considered and unanimously approved 24 important Resolutions on State budget estimates and allocations; public investment plan 2020; adjusting the medium-term public investment plan for the 2016-2020 period and the medium-term public investment plan for 2021-2025; list of land use conversion and land acquisition projects; policies to support the care of children in special circumstances; policies and working conditions of elected delegates; and so on.

The provincial People's Council also voted Mr. Pham Van Do - Director of Department of Finance and Mr. Huynh Van Son - Director of Department of Planning and Investment as Member of the IXth provincial People's Committee, term 2016 - 2021.

According to the Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the provincial People's Council - Pham Van Ranh, 2020 was the last year to implement the Resolution of the Xth provincial Party Congress and the 5-year socio-economic development plan (2016 - 2021) - year of organizing the XIth provincial Party Congress in association with the socio-economic development plan for the next 5 years. Therefore, it was necessary to have the participation of the entire political system as well as the entire Party, people and army of the province to perform the tasks in 2020.

He asked the provincial People's Committee, all levels and branches to urgently carry out the approved resolutions; the provincial People's Council deputies to promptly report the results of the session, listen to the aspirations of the people, grasp the reality of social life to promptly make recommendations to the People's Council, People's Committee and functional agencies.

At the same time, he called on all officials and civil servants, soldiers of the armed forces, the people and the business community to strive to overcome all difficulties and challenges to successfully complete the resolutions of the provincial Party Committee and the provincial People's Council in 2020, creating a solid foundation and strong spirit for the following years./.
