According to the plan, the 2nd Vietnam - Cambodia Border Defense Exchange is expected to take place from November 13-14 in Tay Ninh province (Vietnam) and Svay Rieng province (Cambodia).
Within the framework of the exchange, there will be many meaningful activities such as saluting, painting border markers, planting friendship trees, joint military medical exercises, inauguration ceremony of Ben Cau Primary School's classrooms, twinning ceremony of residential clusters on both sides of the border, joint patrol between the border management and protection forces of the two countries, groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a friendship primary school in Svay Rieng province, signing of cooperation documents between the two Ministries of National Defense, etc.

The success of the exchange will demonstrate the solidarity, friendship, tradition, and good comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam - Cambodia, Cambodia - Vietnam; directly contributing to strengthening political trust, promoting cooperation, especially between the border management and protection forces, local authorities and people in the border areas of the two countries in a practical and effective manner, building a peaceful, friendly, stable, cooperative and developing Vietnam - Cambodia border.
Therefore, in recent times, agencies and units have proactively coordinated closely, overcome difficulties, and implemented many synchronous measures to ensure security, national defense, logistics, electricity systems, healthcare, propaganda, and festive decorations, so that the exchange program can take place safely and solemnly.
Regarding the landscape beautification work in the Moc Bai International Border Gate area, the Moc Bai Economic Zone Management Board has also chaired and coordinated with relevant agencies and units to complete 15 items; the landscape cleaning and order arrangement work along the entire route has been basically completed.

In addition, the Border Guard force of Tay Ninh province and the Cambodian border guard force have been actively practicing the ceremonies to welcome and see off the high-ranking leaders of the two countries' Ministries of National Defense, the salute ceremony, painting the sovereignty marker, planting friendship trees, and joint patrols between the border guards of the two countries at the Moc Bai International Border Gate landmark area.
Ready for the big festival
Up to now, all basic preparations have been completed, some activities before the exchange such as the two countries' military doctors coordinating to examine and treat patients, providing free medicine and giving breeding cows to people in especially difficult circumstances on both sides of the border have taken place successfully.
At Ben Cau Primary School—where the inauguration ceremony of the boarding classroom area will take place—up to now, the construction of classrooms, lunch rooms for boarding students, computer rooms, outdoor roof systems, etc., has been completed. For the joint military medical exercise area in Ben Cau commune, the military medical forces of Vietnam and Cambodia have actively coordinated in training, ready to respond to emergency situations, serving people in border areas.
In addition, the twinning of residential clusters on both sides of the border between Long Cuong hamlet, Long Thuan commune, Tay Ninh province and Ou Ta Mou hamlet, Monourom commune, Svay Teab district, Svay Rieng province, chaired by the People's Committee of Long Thuan commune, in coordination with the Department of Foreign Affairs, has completed the initial preparation.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai, Chairwoman of Long Thuan Commune People's Committee, said, "For nearly 2 months, the Commune People's Committee has planned to assign the commune's functional branches to coordinate with Long Phuoc Border Guard Station to inspect and survey all the tasks, from light bulbs, fans, flower pots, ornamental plants, mobilizing people to hang flags on both sides of the road, and preparing propaganda content. Long Phuoc Border Guard Station coordinates with the Commune Police, Military and related departments and branches to ensure security and safety in the airspace, border areas, and inland areas, and at the same time arranges forces to block traffic intersections.
According to the Standing Committee member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hong Thanh, organizing the 2nd Vietnam-Cambodia Border Defense Exchange in Tay Ninh province is an honor and, at the same time, a great political responsibility of the locality. Therefore, he requested agencies and units to closely follow the direction of the Ministry of National Defense, the guidance of Military Region 7, and the Border Guard Command; proactively develop specific plans; clearly assign people and tasks; and complete on schedule. In particular, it is necessary to strengthen security, order, and national defense, absolutely not allowing passivity in any situation.
"This Exchange Program not only contributes to strengthening the solidarity, friendship, and comprehensive cooperation between the armed forces, governments, and people of Vietnam and Cambodia, but also affirms Tay Ninh's determination to join hands in building a peaceful, friendly, cooperative, and sustainably developed border," Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hong Thanh emphasized.
The young officer exchange activity demonstrates the consistency and unanimity of the Vietnamese and Cambodian authorities in border management and protection, strengthening the trust of the people, border guards, and the government. The young officers together carry out typical activities such as planting youth friendship trees; sports exchanges; participating in activities to disseminate and educate the law to people in the areas on both sides of the border; and political and artistic exchanges.
With careful preparation and smooth coordination, the 2nd Vietnam - Cambodia Border Defense Exchange is expected to be a great success, continuing to foster the loyal solidarity between the two peoples while affirming the determination of the two countries in building a peaceful, friendly, cooperative border for mutual development./.
